Just A Quick Update

My latest ‘Medical Saga’ took much longer to recover than I ever expected. For those of you who know what happened, I am thrilled to announce the stitches have been removed. I am finished taking those awful antibiotics. I no longer need to take painkillers. And, I am ready to wear REAL PANTS again.

[Side bar: I would like to sincerely thank everyone who reached out to me over the last two weeks. Your thoughtful emails and funny comments got me through this awful experience. I feel extremely grateful and very blessed.]

Having said that, I don’t really have any blog material worth posting.  There’s not too much to be said about trying to remain unconscious for as long as possible during the healing process.

Although; I did learn a few valuable lessons.

1. I know more about female anatomy and biology than I ever wanted to.

2. When you are under the influence of a percocet-induced-haze, you might not make very good decisions. Let’s just say, I may or may not have ordered several, different, useless, items, via infomercials. And I may or may not have frantically reached for the phone in hopes of becoming one of the first 100 callers. However, my recollection with respects to exactly what I purchased, is cloudy at best. Clearly, I cannot be trusted with a credit card while heavily medicated.

Anyway…

Barring any unforeseen traumatic events, I am confident this week should prove to be much more interesting.  Especially if I start receiving mysterious packages in the mail.

  2. Oh I can't even imagine what's going to be arriving at my front door over

the next few days! But I know it's probably NOTHING I need!

  3. Cuteellaisbold says:

    Whoa. What happened?

  4. I'm imagining that one of the items was a whoopee cusion?? No worries though, coz u can blame it all on legally induced drugs. Don't u just love them (but only when we need them of course) Grin. Take care.

  5. Check your email inbox!

  6. I wouldn't have survived without painkillers! That's for certain.

  7. Random Chick says:

OMG! I'm scared to asked what happened? But, what happened?! I'm sorry I wasn't being a good blog friend and didn't support you in your time of need. I'm glad to hear that you're doing better and survived whatever horrible injury you suffered. Girl, what are we going to do with you??? XOXOXO (BTW, I've moved my blog over to WordPress. You can visit me here: Random Chick Blog)

  9. Jaffer says:

Oh ! Stitches ? I am going to cover me eyes with my fingers and my ears with my toes because I am very squeamish.

I am just glad you are alright.

Your Internet Daddy also was under the knife earlier (see his blog)

Oh what a day – I hear such news of two of my best friends – ON THE SAME DAY !

  10. Jayne says:

Glad to hear you've turned the corner. Hoping you'll be out on the links again very soon, my friend.

  11. I just saw what happened to my iDaddy. Ugh. Surgery sucks!

  12. I sure hope so. I haven't played golf in over 6 weeks! [sad face] Thanks, Jayne.

  13. Ziva says:

I'm so happy you're feeling better! You know, if you ever find yourself in a percocet-induced-haze again and feel like doing some mystery shopping, I could really use one of those Zumba DVD things.

  14. Ahahahha! Okay! Ill try and remember that!

  15. Momzombie64 says:

Glad you are feeling better. I have a feeling those “operators are standing by” infomercials are specifically designed for those in a drug-induced haze.

  16. Seriously! They totally had me at my weakest moment. I can't wait to see what the heck I bought!

  17. Jayne says:

I feel the same way when I can't get on a horse.

  18. Marty Wombacher says:

Glad you're feeling better, Meleah. The universe owes you a “get out of sick card” for what you went through!

  19. Seriously! And thanks Marty.

Aside from still feeling a little foggy which I am assuming is just residual

side effects of percocet, I am looking forward to having a MUCH better

    month!

  20. Mike says:

Glad to see you're on the road to recovery!! Hopefully you'll get some cool get-well gifts that you forgot about. 🙂

  21. Here's hoping! Thanks Mike. You and Jules are too cute together!

  22. Mike says:

Welcome back to the land of the lucid! When you figure it out, I'd love to know what you bought from the Tee Vee. Or didn't 🙂 Glad you're doing better!

  23. Oh, I will be more than happy to update when/if strange products start to

    arrive!

  24. territerri says:

So glad to hear you are feeling better and can get back to normal life again.

When your new products start arriving in the mail, maybe you could raffle them off on the blog. I've been wanting a Zebra print Snuggie. Did you, by chance, happen to order one of those? 😉

  25. Ron says:

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay….you're back! I was so freakin' happy to see your post on my reader!!!

    OMG…you are so funny!

    1. I know more about female anatomy and biology than I ever wanted to.

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHA!

And I so know what you mean about finally being off those awful antibiotics, because when I had to take them myself (back in July), I never realized just how awful they made me feel, until I was off them. They made me very lathargic, but I though it was the infection that had been doing it.

Anyway…..I'm sooooooooo happy to see you back. You've been terribly missed!

    (((( Meleah ))))

    x

  26. I honestly do NOT recall what I bought! This should be very interesting!

  27. Its SO good to BE back. And I can ALMOST hold a complete thought in my head!

Im still foggy and groggy and I still feel a little off-balance due to

residual medication side effects, but THIS is SO MUCH better than Ive been!

Thanks so much Ron. You're emails really did make my day while I was down

    and out.

    xoxoox

  28. Thank goodness it all soon to be no more than a memory for you. One you could do without, I suppose 🙂

  29. Smithmp says:

I didn't even know you HAD stitches and percocet… guess you know the quality of friends by their clueless expressions. Just paint me clueless and carry on. (glad you feel better)

  30. cardiogirl says:

I LOVE infomercials. I really do. So that's very good advice for me. I never buy anything but I'm always tempted when I watch those commercials. So I'm afraid that adding Percocet to the mix would make me dial as quickly as possible.

  31. BobG says:

They must be giving you better Percocet than they gave me; it take 3 or 4 tabs to even know I've taken anything.
Glad to hear you're doing better; you had a lot of us worried there for a while. We miss you 🙁

  32. Nicky says:

I am sooooooo glad you are feeling better! I've missed you, love.

Oh, and before the Percocet wears off, I have an amazing money-making idea I'd love to share with you, but you have to email me your credit card number RIGHT NOW before this offer expires!

Hey, can't blame a girl for trying, can you? ? u babe!

  33. It REALLY does! I speak from experience!

  34. I just hope YOU start to feel better too!

  35. Ahahaaha! Ahahahhha!

    Love you Nicky!

  36. I am so glad you are feeling better and that the damned stitches are out and you are on the road to recovery and finally wearing pants!

  37. Pants are GREAT!

I always thought I would LOVE to live my life in pajamas.

And 99% of the time I am IN pajamas.

But, once I wasn't allowed to wear pants I missed them!

I think I just appreciate having the OPTION to wear JEANS!

  38. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU GET!! Woo hooo!!!

  39. Me too! Ahahahahahha!

  40. agg79 says:

Glad you are feeling a bit better. It sucks to be down for that long (unless your are a Chilean miner). I hope you are back out and causing trouble again in the general population.

And we want to hear details/see pictures of your acquisitions. I'm picturing you in a Snuggie wearing your Ab Tronic watching your Chia pet grow while fixing a smoothie in your Magic Bullet.

  41. Ah yes, I do miss causing trouble! But not as much as I miss golf!

I think I may have ordered some 'organizational' products, but I REALLY

don't remember! Guess we will have to wait and see!

  42. oldereyes says:

I'm glad you are feeling better (no deatils, PLEASE … if you won't write baout it I don't want to know!) . You are one of the few bloggers I read who can make “nothing to post about” entertaining and funny. About six weeks ago, I blacked out on my bicycle and hit a parked car. I've been undergoing test (heart) to see if it could have been more than heat stroke or just being old. So far, so good. Friday, I'll be having a nuclear stress test … if that's normal, I think I'll be done.

  43. Glad you're feeling better 😀

  44. So I'm guessing Snuggie, Slap Chop, Magic Jack and Extenze boxes by the truckload are due to show up in your doorstep? BIG garage sale coming up? 😉

Glad to hear the ordeal is on the conquered route Meleah. Take best of care!

  45. slyde says:

i cant wait for the day that I can wear pants again, too.

    hope you're feeling better, sexy.

  46. Oh My! Older Eyes! I hope you're okay? Geez. That sounds scary.

  47. Aw. Thanks Rog!

I am pretty confident I did NOT order Extenze!

But I may have purchased Pajamas Jeans!

    🙂
