Eight Random Things About Moi

Lisa from OMYWORD has tagged me with 8 Random Facts About Moi…weeks ago… (Sorry!)

Anywhoo, instead of following the “rules” I am going to list: ‘8 Things I Did Over The Weekend’.

I have already done the 8 Random Facts About Me which can be found here…and…I am too tired to write a ‘real’ post.

But since I totally digg her, and since I really digg her blog, I figured I should write a little some’n some’n.

Here goes:

1. Yom Kippor was well spent feasting on food and spending quality time with my family late into the night.

2. As usual, I cleaned my whole house from top to bottom. (Including washing, drying, and folding ALL of the laundry).

3. I went grocery shopping. (And then, I was reminded of the only thing I dislike about my condo…the 4 flights of stairs I have to climb…while carrying 85 bags into my house).

4. I finally organized the 17 billion journals I have kept since I was 9 years old and put them into chronological order.

5. I received the phone call. I was given ‘ The Reason’ as to why an untimely end came of my friendship and why it came to an end at such an abrupt halt. (Sorry people, that will remain a private, personal, and confidential matter). However, it will now be easier for me to move forward with my life.

6. I went with my mother and my son to see THIS movie. (Umm…sooooo fucking gooooood…soooo fucking good. I can’t stop thinking about it. Every time I close my eyes another image from that movie paints my brain).

7. I was awoken at 8:30 AM on a SUNDAY morning, to endure manual and physical labor. As one of the most inactive people on the planet, and as someone who can’t get enough sleep, ever….this was a major feat. I helped my father move everything from one storage unit to another storage unit. (After a full day of lifting: giant sofas, big screen TV’s, over sized dining room tables, heavy boxes, Santa Clause sized plastic bags, and metal chairs (no longer questioning why both ofร‚ย  my brothers live in excess of 80 miles away) and…while sweating like Patrick Ewing in the 4th, I was more than simply panting, the smoker that is me…was also suffering from a severe shock to my lethargic system. I spent the rest of the day debilitated in a bubble bath).

8. Finally, I picked up some delicious, delectable, mouth watering, new meals…enough for the week… from Chef BrookeStone. Now my soon to be ‘fat ass’ can eat some gourmet style food. (I have to admit, that drive, was so totally worth the 40 minutes (each way)…and at 9pm on a Sunday night… even though I still couldn’t lift my arms or feel my legs).

* My weekend was good and I am proud to announce the feeling has returned to all of my extremities. (Now I am just incredibly sore). But, I feel like I never have enough time to do all of the things I want or need to do. (Like fulfilling the dire need to have a full body ben-gay rub down followed by 24 hours of unconsciousnessright about now). I feel like I always need One More Day. If only I could work three days a week and have four days “off” in. a. row. Then maybe? Just maybe? I’d be able to fit everything into my ever so hectic life. Or, maybe? I can just win the lottery and never have to work again. Yeah. I am pretty sure I would like that a whole lot better.

  1. Yes, winning the lottery…that would make life, just a tad nicer, wouldn’t it?

Glad you had a productive, good weekend!

  2. The best friend says:

    “Sanata Clause sized plastic bags”

Now when ANYTHING is GIANT…I am going to compare whatever it is to SANTA. Thank you for that.

  3. Random Magus says:

I am glad you got the issue with your friend resolved. Now it will be so much easier to get past. I think not knowing is the most terrible thing everything else one cam deal with.

  4. Ingrid says:

Sounds like it was a good weekend.

  5. paisley says:

well… you certainly had what i would refer to as a super productive weekend… i on the other hand sat around,, wrote,, read,, and tried to raccoon proof my “cat house” as the raccoons are terrorizing my poor kitty!!!!!!!

    good to see you…..
    rest…
    get a massage…
    relax…

yeah… easy for me to say…..

  6. Leslie says:

Are you feeling better? Better enough to plan… a short trip? You know what I’m thinking don’t you? With so many little sisters and friends on this coast as of October, we need to use honey’s parents fantabulous ritzy beach house for a girls + honey weekend if they’ll let us, and if I can talk them into watching the dog so y’all can bring your kids. Three bedrooms, each with a king or queen bed, one couch and a massive living room floor for sleeping bags…. Should I ask them? Winter weekend on the beach?

  7. Michael C says:

THAT is a busy weekend. I sat around a lot. And ate. I slept too. I really need to do more with my weekends!!

  8. Meleah says:

    ———-

Paisley: As soon as I get out of work today I will be diving into a bath and straight to bed. I wish I could have rested, read, and written more… but, such is life.
    ———-

Leslie: I would KILL to get away, especially to see you and all of our peeps….but I have NO TIME left at work to use for days off, as I used em all up months ago with being sick all the time. However, if I won the lottery and didn’t need a paycheck to pay my bills I would be driving down TODAY. Maybe? I can finagle something. Ill call or email you tonight! xxoo

Michael C: Sleeping and Eating are my two biggest pleasures in life.

  9. Michael C says:

It’s that whole twin thing again ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. Leslie says:

I’m thinking weekend, short trip – I figure you and I are always short on time and cash, and Sarah Bear will have JUST moved cross country, so short would be better? MAYBE a three day weekend, or if you fly (possibly cheaper than gas from NJ to Logan airport) it could be Fri PM to Sunday PM? Maybe? Just a thought – I know time and budget is tight for all of us, but dude, we all live so close now!!!! and Heather C too, is in Rhode Island, did you know that?

  11. Meleah says:

NO WAY! NO WAY… okay okay, Ill have to ask (as in beg and plead) my mom and dad to fund my little escape to the comforts of fellow cascadians and a much needed long weekend.

  12. Now to get to work, so you can get some rest… ๐Ÿ™‚

    SA

  13. LESLIE says:

OK, and I’ll find out when they will let us have it, if at all, then. ๐Ÿ˜€

  14. HollyGL says:

I’m glad you received the closure you did so you could move on. Better late than never, I suppose…

  15. someGirl says:

    GO WITH LESLIE WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know her but DUDE, that is EXACTLY what “Louise” needs right now!!! Go forth and be merry…..

  16. Dawn says:

Sounds like you accomplished a lot and even managed to have a little fun time. Good for you ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. I totally escaped the house for a delicious weekend with my darling that was decadent/demanding in equal amounts…
    I am still recovering …
    It was worth it.
Your weekend sounds as if it was lovely, despite the four flights of stairs..
I’m so glad things are a little more clear with your friend.

    Kisses
    xox

  18. josie2shoes says:

I am most happy to read #5, you deserved that knowledge, so that you could have some closure. Being left to forever wonder isn’t fair.

  19. leslie says:

I imagine TBF/JW is doing the same “I Told You So” dance right now about # 5 that I am? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  20. Holy Cow, you did A LOT during the weekend!
    Are you superwoman or something?
I sure can’t do that much during weekends!

  21. Hammer says:

You just reminded me why I will never live on the 3rd floor again.

  22. Omyword! says:

I am so glad you broke the rules. I am sooooo glad you got that phone call. AND I am glad you are still enjoying your delicious food stuffs. Life is good, even if the weekend seems bit too short.

  23. kellypea says:

OMG. Doesn’t it SUCK when your body rebels after doing something physical? (Like every time I move mine lately) Cool that you helped your dad, though. And very cool that you found some gourmet food that you’ll be enjoying. Okay, back to work. The Brahms isn’t helping today. Thank you for being the president of my distraction club.

  24. Selma says:

What a corker of a weekend! Makes mine seems rather self-indulgent and lazy in comparison. So glad you know the reason for the split with your friend because it will help you to move on. Aah – winning the lottery, that’s my dream too but I think I’ve got about as much chance of that happening as I have of appearing on the cover of Vogue. Still, you can never say never!

  25. Rolando says:

Sounds like you had a productive weekend. I wish I did half as much. But nope. Can you take me to the movies too? I’ll get the popcorn. ๐Ÿ™‚ j/k

  26. Ricardo says:

I am a HUGE Patrick Ewing fan but the Knicks these days are terrible. I know the kind of sweat you are talking about. Blech!!!

I was about to punch a whole in the wall during the fast on Yom Kippur but ate all night long.

Glad you at least got a reason to the friendship ending. It sucks but at least you have something solid where as before it was this big mystery.
