Its probably a good idea to have at least One Person that paid attention in Spanish Class seated at your table.

Someone found my roof top oasis. That someone is my son JCH. He decided to join me yesterday afternoon to soak up some rays. This was our conversation.
JCH: Um, yanno…there isn’t very much sun up here.
[Not two seconds after those words left his lips…the clouds moved, the sun appeared, and gleamed upon us with intense warmth.]
ME: Oh yeah, then what do you call that?
JCH: Irony.

Man I love my son’s quick wit.

My poor son JCH is the only teenager on this vacation. I feel so badly for him. Just look at how bored he is. While all of the kiddies are having fun with their parents, him & I are pretty much on our own. However, its not exactly fun for a 12 year old to hang out with his mom.
I’d like to take this moment to give thanks for All Things video games.
Now, I have to give my son mucho credit for being such a good sport. He certainly hasn’t lost his sense of humor. We went out to dinner the other night, just to change things up a bit. My son entertained himself and me at the dinner table playing with the salt & pepper shakers (my favorite was the pepper on top of a straw as a microphone).
During dinner, I really struggled with resisting a very powerful urge to inhale the guacamole and taste a sample of the amazing pico de gallo. But I didn’t cave. However, when a fresh batch of corn chips hot out of the oven and still dripping in oil arrived at the table I could NOT help myself. I decided to indulge. I put three chips on my plate, sprinkled them with salt, and took the smallest bites EVER to make them last as long as I possibly could. I let the flavor and crunchiness linger in my mouth. And then I washed it down with a Benadryl. (Just In Case) I have to admit, they were the single most satisfying thing I have eaten in about a YEAR.
Later that evening, my son and I who are sharing living quarters were thirsty. The water cooler upstairs by our bedroom was empty. In the refrigerator were two sodas. (Yet another thing I am banned from drinking.) My son offered to go downstairs and get water for the both of us. I told him, don’t bother with that. It’s okay, I’ll just drink the soda. And then my son said something I will never forget.
” Um. How About No Mom. You can’t drink soda. And, I think you have done enough ‘Dare Deviling’ for one day. You already ate those chips. Now you can only have water.”
And then he rolled his eyes at me.
Yep. Things are still wonderful in Mexico.

While I love spending time with my family…sometimes, it can be slightly overwhelming to be surrounded by that many people at once. Therefore, yesterday, I took some much needed alone time. But, I wasn’t sure how to ‘get away’ while on a vacation.
Alas, I discovered the Roof Top.
Oh. My. God.
The roof top of this house, is straight out of MTV Cribs, only nicer. In order to get myself perfectly acclimated, I set up all of my things on the table: cigarettes, beverage, tanning cream, camera. I blasted music from my beloved iTunes (I am so glad I brought my speakers with me). And, I soaked in as much sun as humanly possible.
I told my family we are not allowed to leave this country until I am so tan, I look like a native.
I have to say, yesterday was my favorite day thus far. I might even feel relaxed.

I have never been a morning person. I will never be a morning person. However, since I have been on this Family Vacation, I have been quite the early bird. Maybe my ‘rise & shine’ mind set is because I don’t want to miss out on anything. Or, it could be simply because of how beautiful this place is.
Obviously, I am still In Mexico. Daily Updated Photos can be found HERE!
Oh yeah…and their son MDW was in the infinity pool today…here is a quick video of him swimming.
(I’ve never used My Flickr Account before to upload a movie. I am not sure if it takes a long time for ya’ll to view it? Or if it just takes me a long time because I am using 3rd world internet access?)
Anyway. Still here In Mexico.
(And still having a good time.)
