I sure hope everyone enjoyed the holiday as much as I did.
This year we spent Thanksgiving with my brother Adam’s girlfriend, Leah’s family.
And it was awesome.
But rather than bore you with the details of the event, I’d rather share it with you, via one of my famous home movies, just like I did last year. And, I am pretty excited about creating this particular video, especially because I took all of the footage and all of the photos with my new Nikon 1 J1. And even though I haven’t totally figured out how to use this camera properly, I believe I was able to capture still shots while simultaneously videotaping. Which means I didn’t miss a single expression.
Booyah.
Sadly, I am still digesting excessive amounts of food and alcohol.
In fact, I might still be drunk.
So you’re just going to have to wait for a few more days.
In the mean time, please tell me about your Thanksgiving.
Did you have it at home?
Or did you travel to another relatives?
Did you cook?
Or did you have it catered?
What was your favorite part of the meal?
BOOOYYAAAHHHH for excessive amounts of food and alcohol.. have fun and enjoy girl…
I am still figuring out my ‘new’ camera and it is over a year old now. My son figured out how to use the timer and we took some great family shots this Thanksgiving so I was pretty excited about that one 🙂 I know you are gonna have fun playing with that new camera!!
I had my first Peoria Thanksgiving with my family in 19 years! When are you going to post the photos and movie of your Thanksgiving? Have a great weekend!
My Thanksgiving will fail in comparison to yours. I stuffed myself with lots of dessert, then headed to work. Not even sure we took ONE picture, let alone a video. Sad, since it’s my favorite holiday!
I’m sittin’ on pins and needles awaiting your video! Get goin’! 😉
🙂
Oh yay! I can’t wait to see those photos!
Hey you! I will be working on making the movie today, so HOPEFULLY by tomorrow!
Oh, man. That doesn’t sound super fun.
I will try to get the movie finished as soon as possible.
Nice new camera! And pretty damn snazzy to do vids & stills at the same time. As much as Thanksgiving is a family holiday first and food second, it’s getting harder and harder for ours to get together, so it was nice to get away this year (except for not being able to make it home yet.). I guess we could be stuck at the airport instead of a hotel, right? Happy post delirium to you!!!
I was so happy you were able to get away for Thanksgiving, but then I felt SO BADLY for you, because you’re stuck there!
saw your pics, enjoyed them all, of course. keep being the family photographer.
You have a big family, a lively bunch. Last year’s footage is my reference point. My Thanksgiving was funeral in comparison. Actually,
I hit post before I was done. My brother was chatty and was driving me crazy. My son kept filling my wine glass.
🙂
LOLZ. I am making this years TDAY movie right now.
Hoooooooooooray for wine!
Oh my WORD… you are SO LUCKY to have that camera! YES!!!! I can’t wait to see your movie… they always make me laugh. Especially if you were drunk taking some of the pix! Those are the best kind. Hmmmmm do I see a Meleah Photo Challenge Month ahead? Your topics would ROCK…. think about it!
Oh after NaBloPo and NaNoWriMo are over I will not be participating in any more challenges this year.
I really need to stay focused on my novel!
XOXOX
PS: The movie will be posted by tomorrow!
I’m glad your Thanksgiving was awesome! I want a real camera. I want a lot of things…
I turkey trotted while the other turkey cooked, then came home and cooked everything else. Just my husband and kids at home this year. My favorite part was that they cleaned up while I sat around.
I look forward to your flick!
Hooray for OTHER PEOPLE cleaning up!!
I woke up, got ready, went to the office, worked, left at 5:30pm and on the way home I got a coffee and a delicious chicken steak burger and then came home to watch some tv. No turkey 🙁 or pumpkin pie :_(
Awww….
I’m reading backwards again, so I already enjoyed your fabulous movie. Sounds like you had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving.
We went to Mark’s sister’s house and spent the day with his family. It was nice … but nowhere near as exciting as your day looked to be!
I read about your Thanksgiving! What a great day for all of you. And your family photos are fabulous!
This year was totally out of character for us. Because of our extended vacation, we hadn’t done any prep work and we now have a new extended family through the in-laws. We actually had dinner over at the DIL’s house with her family. They did the turkey, we brought pies, casserole, bread. Was strange not having any leftovers this year. Strangely quiet but less hectic/stressful. This may be the start of a new tradition for us.
Sounds good to me.
It was weird NOT having Thanksgiving at my house too.

That looks like a really cool camera. I’ll be interested to know what you think of it.
