My 13 Year Old Son [commonly referred to on this blog as JCH otherwise known as Who-Steen] will never cease to amaze me.
While he has been executing stereotypical teenager behavior as of late [complete with *eye rolls* and *heavy sighs*] I have to admit, Iโve been quite lucky.ย He really doesnโt talk back, he basically follows the rules, and he doesnโt ask for very much.
Of course there are moments [few and far between] when we have our problems. But every now and then, he will do something so unexpectedly kind, it simply melts my heart.
Last weekend, while visiting his father, my son sent me a Text Message, just like he always does – whenever he is away from home. Only this particular Text Message, was different from all the other Text Messages he normally sends.
May I present to you, The Best Text Message Of All Time:
And yanno what?
He wasn’t even trying to butter me up, or get out of trouble.
He sent it just because he wanted to!
I love your kid almost as much as I love you.
Aw. Thanks Courtney!
Things like this make all the hard work it is to be a parent worth it!
Doesn’t that beat all? Isn’t that the best feeling in the WORLD???? Good for you!
Oh my god, that’s so sweet of him ๐
I would save, print and frame that text message ๐
Awww. That’s what it’s all about. Sometimes our kids just tug at our hearts, don’t they? He is awesome!
Luragano

Selma:
And, he sent that to me at the perfect time.
I realize just how lucky I truly am to be a mother and to have such a wonderful son.
Sons are awesome. My girls never did that. Lil “D” tells me I’m beautiful for no reason all the time. You son rocks !
that is the best. show it to him every time he starts acting up, as a reminder of course.
you got yourself a keeper there meleah!!!
Dang them kids. Just when you are ready to throw ’em out of the house, they go pull this kind of stuffthat melts your heart. He’s a great kid and you’ve done a good job in raising him right.
The Girl:
I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I have a son.
I don’t think I could ever handle raising a daughter!
Natural:
Great idea!

What a great kid! Every once in a while I get one of those from one of my kids too. I’ll never get tired of that type of message.
Can I just say Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! It brings me memories when once my little brother wrote “I luv u” in my notebook. I have kept that page for like for ever now! You must be an amazing mother!!!!
Debo Hobo:
I was a little teary eyed when I read it for the 1st time!
Terri:
Yes! I love that your kids do this too!
๐
Terry:
Oh, I will be saving that text message forever!
Aww…that makes me think that having kids is not that bad at all :p
You’ve got a great kid, M.

Yes I am!
Nice. He’s a really sweetheart. I think he’s an amazing kid.
Awwwwww! That is so sweet!! Seems you’re bringing him up right, Meleah!
My youngest told me today that he felt that he had a great upbringing. He said the only criticism he could think of was a slight resentment that I hadn’t let him watch 15 rated movies before the age of twelve! And even after that, I watched them first. LOL! Hey, if that’s the only complaint he has, I’m happy!
Sweet!
Roshan:
He really IS amazing
๐
Jay:
I hope so!
And I also let my son watch R rated movies too!
xoxo
Vanessa:
It sure was!
Well now that’s very nice of him. It’s hard for teen age boys to do that you know.
Such a single gesture makes everything-life worthwhile, doesn’t it? ๐
Ricardo:
My son rocks!
Rog:
Absolutely!
