The JCH Report and other family news!

I am happy to say that ever since last week, my son has completely turned a 180. I took him for a long walk, where we talked about everything that has been going on in school. Why? He was acting like that. Where? All that anger was coming from. What? we could do about this problem. And then we came up with a plan of action.

We made a long list and addressed each and every item individually. He was rather open, and quite receptive to my suggestions. The principal,(g-d bless her) sent JCH home with a book, “How To Take The Grrrrrr Out Of Anger.” Which JCH not only agrees to read, but he really likes the information he is getting out of the book. Once JCH opened up to letting us help him, things have been supercalafraglisticexpealdoicuous fantastic. Each night we read a chapter from “How To Take The Grrrrr Out Of Anger” book, then JCH writes a paragraph to summarize the chapter, and then we discuss the chapter together and practice whatever examples the book illustrated. Guess what? IT’S WORKING.

Even though he is still grounded, to reward his efforts he has 2 privileges back, television and his iPod. I told him depending on his behavior and attitude this week, and if he does all his homework I will give him back the computer games on Friday. I am so glad that things are moving in the right direction again. I am so proud of my son… and for now, its nice to see the “I don’t care” attitude and non-existant work ethic has been lifted.
