Happy F*cking New Year Everyone!

Okay people. I am not very good at making or keeping New Year Resolutions. Seriously, I am not going to be joining a gym, nor will I try to quit smoking any time soon. But, I do need to make some changes. And that’s why I like to hear what YOUR resolutions are, because quite frankly?  I am fresh out of ideas. So, please tell me, what are you going to be doing differently in 2010?

PS:

Please enjoy this hilarious video featuring: Octomom. Twitter. Obama. Balloon Boy. Tiger Woods and so much more. If there’s one thing for sure in this world, it’s that as long as people are acting reckless, insane and just plain stupid, there will always be plenty of material available for JibJab’s annual “Year in Review” videos!

I'm terrible about making resolutions, but am thinking it might benefit me to at least make a few goals. Whether or not I'm willing to publicly proclaim them remains to be seen.

    Loved the video!

  2. ladybanana says:

Mine will be (maybe) to stop procrastinating about every thing I want to do.. (if I can be bothered that is)….

  3. Yeah, once you write them down -or say them OUT LOUD – then you really have to stick with them!
    xoxoxo

  4. Heh. I am a HUGE procrastinator. I should definitely consider adding that to my list of things I need to change!

  5. moooooog35 says:

My resolutions will be posted tomorrow in video format!!

    That's called a tease.

Like the way I'm wearing my jeans just low enough that you see the top of my ass crack.

    You know it's hot.

  6. Rogelio says:

A few years ago I started to knock-off one resolution on the typical list per year gone by; on that note, I don't think I have any resolutions left for 2010 – my plan to take life as it is less and less seriously has liberated me in an unexpected manner… and all is good 🙂

  7. sweet. Im looking forward to that video already.

  8. I really need to take things less seriously! And I have to find the funny again!

  9. I'm going to start a new website and start living for the moment.

  10. cuteella says:

I don't do “resolutions” for any given year because I feel like such a failure if it's not accomplished by the end of the year. Besides every day starts a new year…

I do goals and then reevaluate them as needed and check progress at the end of the year…something you might want to take a look at is the Day Zero Project (listed as 101 things in 1,001 days on my blog) They have some interesting things…

Goals for this year include getting a better handle on my personal finances, getting to a more fit point and being more organized at home.

  11. Oscar says:

I'm gonna listen more to people and try to be more focused. I'm gonna focus more on a relationship, but not be pushy. I'm gonna play my guitar more and get back into song writing/producing. A passion lost of mine. Oh and read MMMC more often.

Happy New Year to you too my dear… This year is gonna be better for you, I can feel it!

  12. kellypea says:

Now don't fall over, but look what the cat just dragged in. ME! I think one of my new non-resolutions is to find time for non-food related everything — like writing? What a concept, right? Bought me a Writer's Market and am actually reading it. Less wine has to in the mix. More exercise (I used to be sooooo good when I wasn't working!) and yes, I'm still working on my organization skills. But “Hoarders” is helping me realize I'm not quite *that* disorganized. Happy New Year Meleah!

  13. I like THAT. I like that A LOT.

  14. I like GOALS better than resolutions too. Of course, I dont really know what goals I want to set for myself for the year 2010. But, I will definitely check out the Day Zero Project! Thanks love.

  15. Oh. Cool! I had no idea you played the guitar or wrote songs! That is awesome.

  16. KELLYPEA!!!!

*stands back up after fainting from joy after seeing a comment from you!*

I think just knowing YOU are writing again, will make ME write again. I also want to start being more physically active this year. Even if all I do is take a brisk walk around my block, I think that might be a good way to start my days! And you ARE more organized than you think! Happy New Year woman!

  17. cmk says:

I guess this year I have to SERIOUSLY address my weight. I'm getting really tired of taking the amount of meds I do, so it is time. (Besides, I DID buy that Wii Fit thing, so I should use it.) Next year, knowing me, I will be saying the same thing once again. BUT, one time this will stick–just as the quitting smoking did. 😀

Also, I need to FINISH all of the projects that I have started. This, too, will most likely be something I will say again next year. 😉

  18. lemonstand says:

I just finished my own post about this but just realized that I had NOT posted any of my own. Just how I felt about them, what happens to them, how others make them and why, and how I felt about how and why some succeed but most don't.

  19. Woman, you were able to quit smoking and that is one of the hardest things to do. I know you will be able to get your weight under control. And the WiiFit is so much fun, you will ENJOY doing it! xoxoxo

  20. I never seem to be able to uphold any of my resolutions!

PS: Which is your blog? There isn't a link to your blog in your name!

  21. lemonstand says:

    Meleahrebeccah,
I'm guessing I did something wrong. I'm not sure why my blog
address didn't list as I entered it but here it is anyway. I'll go back and
see if I can get it to register… Thanks for letting me know.

I think I had to update my open ID. Just recently came back to blogging and haven't figured out all the changes yet. You'd think I'd been gone for more than two years! :o) Hopefully this will fix it but just in case, I am Lemon Stand of The Lemon Stand

  23. Okay cool. Now I can visit you and add you to muy blogroll.

  24. awesome. thank you and welcome back!

  25. BK says:

Guess what, I saw that JibJab's video on the news yesterday. I thought it is pretty fun to watch.

As for resolutions, I don't usually make it at the start of the New Year as I feel that we should constantly reflect on our lives and make changes wherever there is a need to. As for me, the focus is always to be a better person and to bring joy to others.

Wishing you and your family a fantastic New Year.

  26. That is an awesome way to think and live~

  27. nickphillips says:

Happy 2010 to you and your family 😀

That was a stitch and sadly so much was true….Happy New Year, live life, and have no regrets…Dorothy from grammology

  29. AngryMan says:

The wife and I are going to have sex that is freaky naughty every night — Tiger Woods style, baby.

  30. Well, let's see…
    1. I will not jumpout of an airplane without a parachute.
    2. I will not pose for Playgirl.
    3. I will not run for political office.
    4. I will not run any marathons.
    5. I will not propose to Sandra Bullock.
    6. I will not eat liver pudding.
    7. I will not agree with Newt Gingrich on anything.
    8. I will not buy a new Cadillac.
    9. I will not star in a major Hollywood movie.
    10. I will keep writing my blog.

Not sure, but I think I can keep 100% of these resolutions!

  31. jaruwan says:

Happy New Year 2010…There 's nice blog.

  32. BobG says:

Best wishes for the coming new year. Hopefully it will be better than the last one.
My only resolution is to work on my health more.

  33. ahahhaha ahahahha ahah

  34. YES!!! I knew my Virtual Father would come up with something I could work with! You're the best!

  35. Ms.Terri says:

    1. Think about things I say before I say them (I can be kind of a bitch)
    2. Finish at least 2 more classes towards my degree
    3. Lose weight, get healthy, blahblahblah
    4. Hope that Meleah doesn't think I'm a copycat because I was going to put a similar post on my blog today.

  36. IDoThings says:

My resolution is simple: Make the right choice. I'm all grown-up enough to know what the right choice is in a given situation; I just need to DO IT. So that's it. Kind of boring. Unlike that Jib-Jab video, which was hilarious.

    Happy New Year!

  37. Ezekiel says:

I don't make resolutions. I figure if I want something to change any time will do.

Happy New Year to your and yours. *hug*

  38. Christina says:

I dedicated a whole post to this.

It's been a while. How are you?

  39. I made a fitness resolution during the Summer. I've kept that resolution. I don't believe in waiting for the beginning of the year to set goals. When you think about a resolution or change you want to make, make a plan and then execute it. Set dates based on resource or scheduling availability.

    Have a Happy New Year

  40. Ricardo says:

Happy New Year. It has been a crazy year but lets hope 2010 brings on more craziness in a good way.

  41. Ricardo says:

Yeah, I saw this advertised. How can people live like this? Scary.

  42. Selma says:

I'm not going to let people walk all over me anymore. It causes me too much stress. This is the year of sticking up for myself and getting what I really want.
Happy New Year, dearest Meleah. Much love to you XXXX

  43. Roshan says:

Not so much as a resolution. But for 2010, I hope that I find Ms Right, fall in love, get married and have lots of kids – & if possible do all of this with the same woman!

  44. Bee says:

Happy New Year! I truly wish it to bring you happiness. 🙂

  45. agg79 says:

My resolution is to make it to the end of the year with all my teeth & toes intact. Seriously, I really don't make resolutions anymore at the end of the year. Why wait for some point on the Gregorian calendar to make a drunken, lofty committment to change something that would make us better? Besides, how can you change what is already perfect?

But, in the spirit of the moment (and two days late), I can resolve:
    1. No new tattoos
    2. Stop dating Britney/Angelina/Courtney
    3. Not let my kid float away in a balloon
    4. Stop watching John & Kate
    5. Keep reading Momma Mia, Mea Culpa

    Happy 2010!
