Where Does All The Time Go?

Yeah.

Um…

This is a photo of my son JCH when he was 5 years old, on the day he Graduated Kindergarten.

And this……

This is a photo of my son JCH at 14 years old, on the day he Graduated Middle School [8th Grade].

That boy's gotten big! That's a pretty big shindig for an 8th grade ceremony. Can't wait to see what his high school graduation looks like. I can see why momma's proud of him. Congrats JCH!

  2. Such cute pics! Here's how I see it. The first five years seem to go on and on. Diapers, sleepless nights, learning how to walk….so many firsts. It's exhausting and exhilarating! Six years old to 12 are the golden years and they go by so fast. (I have an older boy I've raised. Long story!) My young ones are 9,7 and 6 and I'm trying to hold on to every day!
    Enjoy him and every moment!

  3. Lisa - Alterity says:

No kidding…my son went and did that this year, too!

  4. moooooog35 says:

    Awww.

And somewhere in between there, he discovered the joy of masturbation.

Just bringing you back to reality, Meleah. It's what I do.

  5. Selma says:

Awww. He's so gorgeous. I could cry seeing those pics. Makes me think of my own son. How quickly they grow up *sniff*

  6. there were over 700 students, so when they were all seated all you could see was a Sea Of Red!

  7. Oh yeah! I vividly remember the days of car seats and strollers, and how it used to take 84 hours it takes to pack one diaper bag, just to run to the grocery store for a single gallon of milk. Or, how losing the pacifier seemed like the end of the world. And just when I thought teething and colic, and teething with colic would break me down? We entered the โ€˜Terrible Twoโ€™sโ€™ complete with tantrums and the time outs. And yet some how, we made it through, night terrors, potty training, eye surgery, broken bones, stitches, and everything else that came our way.

Now I just hope we survive, HIGH SCHOOL!

  8. Indeed! Ahahahahahahaha

  9. Oh Selma I know! I had written a VERY lengthy post to accompany these photos but I was sobbing too much to even finish it!

  10. Jayne says:

See, that's what happens when you feed them.

  11. Anne says:

Wow, he is tall. Congrats JCH! You look very proud.

  12. The Chick says:

Yeah tell me about it…..try being a grandmom UGH !

  13. I cant get over the fact that he's TALLER than ME –
even when I am in High Heels!

  14. UGH! Is right!
    xoxoxo

  15. Roshan says:

I know the older photo isn't very clear but…..did u get younger as your son grew older?

  16. Ha ha ha! Wait until your grandchildren graduate. We don't have these ceromonies in our general schools, only at universities. I expect you are so proud ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Gina says:

As cliche as it sounds, Time does fly, doesn't it? I can't believe my oldest is eighteen. And I've just had the realization that the job is never done.

It looks like you've done well with your son Mel. It's the hardest thing in the world to raise kids.

  18. I am very proud of him.

And I cant even IMAGINE what I am going to feel like when he graduates High
School, or college. LET ALONE ever being a grandparent!

  19. You got that right. It's the hardest job EVER.

  20. You will probably burst! Ha ha!

  21. Ron says:

Oh, WOW…you can definitely see the remeblance of YOU in his face, my friend!

What a great-looking family you have! Must be all that Italian blood, hu? HA!

That first photo of him in the cap and gown is ADORABLE! I didn't think they even had cap and gowns for kindergarten graduation!!

I hear so many parents say the same thing, that their children suddenly go from being a little bundle in their arms to a full-grown adult in the blink of an eye!

    I bet you're a faaaaaaaabulous mom!

    X

  22. Thanks Ron! Trust me, while my son ACTS like me, he LOOKS like his father!
It's so nice to have you BACK in blogville. I've missed you!
    ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Jay says:

You wait till JCH is coming up to thirty years old. Now how the **** did THAT happen? LOL!

He looks so smart and grown up in his graduation gear, doesn't he?

  24. Nicky says:

    Congratulations JCH! What a milestone!

And congratulations to you Momma…you did a fine job ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. MomZombie says:

I hear ya! I was just talking with a friend today about all the graduations they have now: pre-school, kindergarten, middle school. I had one graduation. Just one. High school. Your young man has grown up quite handsomely. Brace yourself for the fun years.

  26. cmk says:

My Oldest just told me that HER oldest–my oldest grandchild–will begin driving lessons in March. Now THAT has the tendency to make me feel my age! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  27. Awwwww….. congrats to all! mmmmmm'wah! ???

  28. Oh WOW… I am so choked up!!! WOW! You know what, he looks exactly the same, except he is all grown up! My second graduated from 8th this year. Next year I will have TWO TEENS in high school! AHHH!

I am so glad you shared the graduation picture along WITH the picture of him in kindergarten… wow!

  29. territerri says:

I have no idea how these things happen, but I do know they happen WAY too quickly!

  30. Ack! Can't we just make time stop for a minute? One lousy minute? And by minute, I of course mean decade.

  31. I am just coming up on 30 something years old! I cant IMAGINE him that age!

  32. I think I might need a helmet for the next few years!

  33. Thanks love!
    xoxoxoxo

  34. Im DREADING the high school years!

  35. A second would be nice.
But, a decade would be better!

  36. Noemi says:

You guys are looking great…JCH's lucky to have a mom like you, Mel!

  37. Marty Wombacher says:

Cangratulations to JCH! Now comes high school, that should make for some interesting blogging!

  38. Im already terrified!

  39. Stafford says:

Another milestone for you both. Great to see you have instilled the importance of learning and you were wise enough to start with kindie! Congratulations.

  40. Nick Phillips says:

One minute they're little tiny tykes running around here and the next they're full grown adults. Time really does fly by these days.
