What Mythological Creature Are You?

I went to the gym last night with my mom. Here is a little secret in your ear. It is not really a “good idea” to work out while trying to escape your feelings. (Especially when you haven’t had any physical activity “worked out” in over 5 years.)

Information you also might find handy? Working out while in emotional distress can lead to: running excessively on the treadmill, abusing the other exercise machines, or lifting weights that are way too heavy.

Final result? I am currently so sore that I cannot even lift my arms long enough to type. I could barley shampoo my head this morning.

So tell me:

What Mythological Creature Are You?

Take this test and find out.

Apparently I am a “Chimera.”

“You are very outgoing and well connected to many people. Incredibly devoted to your family and friends, you find purpose in nurturing others. You are rarely alone, and you do best in the company of others. You are incredibly expressive, and people are sometimes overwhelmed by your strong emotions.”

WOW…. that seems pretty dammed accurate to me. Wouldn’t you say so?

I started training again last year in an attempt to hide from some mixed emotions- you’re absolutely right, it does make a mess of your workout. I do have to say, I’m glad I started doing it again though… I haven’t looked this good since I was 25.

    *buffs fingernails and sneers* 😉

  2. Stealth says:

I remember deciding to get in shape a few years ago with a kickboxing class before work. By the end of the day, I had to crawl up the stairs to get to my bedroom because my legs were so sore. I remember that pain well…

  3. holly says:

easy does it, gunner! don’t add one pain to another!

apparently i’m a mermaid and people think i’m flakier than i actually am. okay…..

  4. Dazd says:

Actually if you don’t overdo exercising, like you did heh, it can be a great stress reliever. Keep at it and you’ll find time to clear your thoughts.

Just be careful there now…when you shake someones hand or give a hug, don’t crush them!

  5. Lee says:

I started working with a trainer about five weeks ago. There were days in the beginning when I really wondered what I had gotten myself into. I paid for 24 sessions in advance, and that was a wise decision. Extra motivation to continue. Maybe getting back into a routine you might want to work with someone so you don’t kill yourself before you start reaping the benefits.

My mythological creature is a centaur:
“In general, you are a very cautious and reserved person.
However, you are also warm hearted, and you enjoy helping others in practical ways.
You are a great teacher, and you are really good at helping people get their lives in order.
You are very intuitive, and you go with your gut. You make good decisions easily.”

    Tesco:

“buffs fingernails and sneers” HA HA HA.

I cant wait to have my 25 year old body back. I mean…When exactly did gravity take over? And where was I when that happened?

    Stealth:

I am sofa king sore. But this will all be worth it once I get back in the swing of going to the gym regularly and working out without it being emotionally driven!

    Holly:
    I definitely over did it.

    Dazd:

I know. I used to like to exercise. It’s just been a VERY LONG TIME. I am looking forward to getting back in shape.

    Lee:

Oh yeah, its all about a good routine. I LOVE my trainer. Gina is AWESOME and I know she will help me get back to the shape I was once in before I hit the land of saggy-flabby skin. I just over-did it last night. Time to pace myself.

PS: Do you agree with your creature analysis? I cant believe how accurate mine is!

  7. Chefmom says:

I am a Centaur. I think it was pretty accurate!

  8. moooooog35 says:

    I’m also a Centaur.

I’m not sure how accurate the description is, but the picture DOES pretty much catch the essence of my hairy ass.

  9. Beth says:

I took boxing classes when I was stressed – I could not get out of bed by myself for the first three lessons. It eventually paid off though…

  10. Meleah says:

    Chef Mom:

    Sweet!

    Mental Poo:

    HA HA HA HA HA

    Beth:

Im sure this will pay off….but I am paying for it now!

  11. I’m a Pegasus!
You are a perfectionist, with an eye for beauty.
You know how to live a good life – and you rarely deviate from your good taste.
While you aren’t outgoing, you have excellent social skills.
People both admire you – and feel very comfortable around you.

Hmmm….I’m not so sure about that! Yeah, and well i haven’t worked out in years either. Unfortunatley, I think it shows.

  12. leslie says:

    You Are a Mermaid

You are a total daydreamer, and people tend to think you’re flakier than you actually are.
While your head is often in the clouds, you’ll always come back to earth to help someone in need.
Beyond being a caring person, you are also very intelligent and rational.
You understand the connections of the universe better than almost anyone else.

    What Mythological Creature Are You?

I don’t know if I agree or not. I don’t think of myself as a daydreamer, but other than that, maybe.

  13. Ricardo says:

I have slung around weights that I had NO business hoisting up when really mad so I know what you mean. It’s really bad if you haven’t worked out in a good long time. when I started working out a long time ago I did that and could not move the next day. Now I can handle the exercise better but it still hurts to work out while mad. You don’t realize how hard you’re pushing yourself. Lots of ice Meleah.

    Sounds okay so I won’t argue 😉

  15. Meleah says:

    Olga:

Dood. Working out is a BITCH. I agree with “People both admire you – and feel very comfortable around you” as being TRUE for you. xxoo

    Leslie:

Um, I dont agree with yours at all, except for “to help someone in need.
Beyond being a caring person” xxoo

    Ricardo:

    Ice and Jacuzzi.

    Dawn:

    Okay then! 🙂

  16. leslie says:

Took it again, same answers, got this:

  17. Omyword! says:

I’m a chimera TOO. 🙂 Can you exercise for me while you’re at it? Let me know when my thighs stop jiggling. Thanks so much.

  18. Stretch and drink lots of water.

I’m a Pegasus. Something I never thought to call myself but the description fits.

  19. Momo Fali says:

    That test NAILED you! Wow!

  20. Meleah says:

    Leslie:

Thats MORE like you than that other one? but WTF.

    OMyWord:

Just as soon as mine stop jiggling. Im working on the BACK OF MY ARMS, I hate that flabby skin!

    Momo:

It really did! It almost freaked me out!

    Urban:

    Oh yeah…duh… I need to STRETCH….

  21. Lee says:

My creature is pretty close. But I’m a little worried that Dawn and I came out the same! 🙂

  22. Barbara says:

    Take a hot bath!!

    I am a Centaur:
n general, you are a very cautious and reserved person.

You are very intuitive, and you go with your gut. You make good decisions easily.

  23. Beth says:

    Chimera for me!

  24. Beeen there on the treadmill thing..this poor old body could barely lift a beer the next day…:)))))

  25. hammer says:

When I was in Vegas I walked about 5 or 6 miles each day and my legs felt like they were going to fall off. I’ve been sedentary way too long.

  26. Selma says:

I’m a centaur. I think it pretty much sums me up – warm-hearted, practical, likes to help others but is reserved. I walk every day and also do pilates/yoga three times a week. It’s very good for relieving stress. When I work out at the gym I strain something every time without fail. I think I’m getting old!

  27. Meleah says:

    Lee:

Ha ha…Its a GOOD thing to be like DAWN. I love her

    Barb:

Nice! I did take a hot bath and I feel SO MUCH better today!

    Beth:

Yippe! We are the same! 🙂

    Robert:

ha ha..Oh No. If I cant lift my drink I am not working out ever again!

    Hammer:

I had what I like to call ‘spaghetti” legs…like wet noodles… all weak

    Selma:

Oh I am really feeling MY AGE after that work out…but it also made me want to work out more / again / ALOT so that I can get back in to the shape I once was. I hate the saggy-flabby-effects of gravity that has happened to me!

  28. That’s me too! Very fitting…

Hope you’re hanging in there…sometimes a distraction helps sort out all the rest…and from experience, I can tell you that nothing matters around mile 1 except breathing.

    Puts it in perspective huh?

  29. I’m a pegasus…like Olga! hmmmm….

As for working out…I only do when the elevator is broken.

  30. Meleah says:

    courtney:

Sweeet!! 🙂 and yes it does.

    Drowsey:

ha ha ha …Im not a ‘work out’ or fitness person AT ALL….but what the hell, I need a distraction.
