Staring At The Blank Page Before Me

It seems that after taking an ‘Unintentional Blog Vacation’ while my parents were away in Jamaica last week, ‘I’ve Lost My Blogging Mojo’. Seriously, I am having a very difficult time creating anything truly worthy to share with ya’ll that does NOT involve ‘Personal Private Family Matters’ and/or ‘Inside Jokes’ based upon my ‘Real Life Friends’ from the infamous KHCC. And, I can’t even conjure up one of those ‘Obligatory Posts’ just to fill this here space.

However, now that my parents have returned home, some of my ‘Extra Responsibilities’ have been lifted and I am back to my ‘Regular Routine’. And that means I will have plenty of ‘Real Time’  to dedicate to my beloved ‘Internet’ by reading/commenting on all of your blogs. And just maybe I will find some much needed ‘Inspiration’ and/or stumble upon a good ‘Idea’ to write about!

In the meantime, I will also be focusing my attention to another writing project, but, I don’t really want to discuss it just yet, for fear of jinxing myself!

I have been blogging on and off since 2004. Sometimes I have nothing to say…for a very long time. I think I am on a little dry spell.

  2. I've also been blogging for the last four years, and yes, I am totally
having a dry spell. So frustrating!

  3. Lucy says:

I think we all go through those 'staring at the blank page before us' moments! Miss you but totally understand!

  4. At least I will be around this week to comment on everyone else's blogs! xoxo

  5. Don't sweat it, Meleah, you'll be back to fine blogging form soon, enjoy your break!

  6. Jaffer says:

Drowsey Monkey is back – have you heard ?

  7. Dear Meleah,
All wells have to be refreshed! I have weeks when –where are the ideas– then I am teeming with them later and can't keep up!

Something will gig you, or, you'll just need to go out and CREATE events that mean something. Do what works for you!

    Give yourself a break,
    Ann T.

It's always hard to come back to writing after you've been away longer than you're used to. But I'll bet even this short post is enough to get the gears in motion again. I wouldn't worry. You'll be back at it before you know it.

  9. Nicky says:

And here I had visions of you going through some kind of “plant watering crises” with your parents on vacation and having to trek all over town (which I know you love to do!) having to find the exact same plants to replace the ones that you'd been “caring for”! I'm actually relieved that it's just a bit of writer's block and not a case of flora-cide! 🙂

Missed you tons, glad you're back
    xoxo

    Mel,

You can make a trip to the store or the bathroom sound like an adventure.
Even your most mundane blogs are entertaining for us!
    Bring it on!

Glad you are back but we missed you.

Lost mojo seems to be going around a lot lately. I'm getting bored of writing about my kid and dogs. lol Something has to give!!!
You'll be back in your game soon. And I'll be here waiting. No worries momma!

  12. I am working on SOMETHING right now!

  13. Thanks Ann T! I've had a few ideas, but I just cant seem to WRITE them!

  14. Thanks Terri.
And you're totally right. I am ready to start writing again.
But, I want to catch up with the Internet and all of YOUR blogs FIRST!

  15. Nicky!
I think the word flora-cide is HYSTERICAL!
And yes. There was a lit of driving people around such as my son & Poppa Sye
And yes, there was a LOT of plant watering going on over here.
And I cooked dinner practically every single night.
But I didn't KILL any people or plants! So I guess I did a good job!
    xoxo

  16. Thank you for saying THAT! ~ You. Rule.

  17. Thanks Love. I know I will be back in the swing of things in no time. And I
cant wait to make my Internet Rounds. Ive missed all of you so very much!

Thanks a landlord it! I acquired yet some insight. Life is so colorful, we should be able to live in, such as Korea and honor the planet. Human life is like rivers, slowly flowing, flowing rivers, flowing through the snow, flows through the prairie and ultimately into the sea, return to the embrace of nature, start a new reincarnation. Allow us to feel the meaning of life will come only to those you have those memories http://www.cheap-nikeshox.com/nike-shox-TL1.html

    Some ideas:

    1) You can discuss what you did during down time
    2) You can talk about times you've jinxed yourself
    3) Please substitute 'down time' and 'jinxed yourself' with random terms about masturbation and tell us about those

    You're welcome.

  20. I'm going through one of those times too. I actually considered taking a picture of the two dead things the cat left on my back deck and making a post out of it. Hey, it's filler.

  21. Seems that a few bloggers feel this way at the moment, so you're not alone. Maybe it's the time of year 😉

  22. Anne says:

There is nothing more intimidating than a blank page. I am sure that something amusing will happen shortly :).

  23. Oscar says:

Hell, half the time I write I start with no Ideas. take your time my friend – See you soon!

  24. Totally do that! I am probably going to put up a photo post too!

  25. I think its the humidity! Its been 103+ degrees and stifling!

  26. Jaffer says:

    Oh I ain't shutting up ! You are missing out – she's averaging a-post-a-day !

  27. OMG! I'll be sure to visit her blog this week!

  28. It's been UNBEARABLE!

  29. Ricardo says:

Take your time. the words will come back, I'm sure.

  30. Jayne says:

Dry spells seem to be the order of the day. I'm going through a period of creative constipation myself. I marvel at these people who can turn out good stuff every single day — and I wish them great harm. 😉

  31. Ahahahhahahahaa!

I think it has a lot to do with the weather.
I seriously can NOT concentrate in this kind of heat & humidity!

  32. I know what you can do! Put that note on the couple's car… then take a video and do a video blog about it! 🙂

  33. AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH

  34. HeSaidHisTelephoneNumberWas911 says:

With all that you've had going on, it's no wonder you've hit a dry spell. Just like WindowsVista, we need to re-boot from time time time, to get things going again. OH… that's right… you're part of the Apple core. Ahh, never mind. Don't worry, it will come to you soon enough. And I'm glad to hear you're maintaining a “no kill” policy.

  35. Ahahahah! Thanks Jim!

  36. MikeWJ at TooManyMornings says:

I'd like to hear more about the Personal Private Family Matters, please. The more personal and private the better, actually. I have no life of my own, so I kind of depend on you to make me feel loved.

  37. MikeWJ at TooManyMornings says:

Both of you: Get liquored up and started pounding the keys. You'll feel brilliant, and maybe you will be. It's worked for writers for hundreds of years now.

    You're welcome.

  38. Ahahahahah.
I'd love to help you out, but unfortunately, I've been sworn to secrecy!

  39. Hmmm. That might NOT be a bad idea!

  40. Ron says:

There has to be something in the blogosphere because I've been hearing so many people say the same thing right now.

And yes, I too go through this at times.

But, I'm soooooo glad to hear you're inspired with another writing project! You GO, girl!

So, do what feels right for you. Blogging will always be here when your inspiration returns.

    You're fans will await you!

    X

  41. Aw. Thanks for your support Ronnie C!
    xoxoxoxo

  42. Selma says:

I've been feeling a bit like that too. I think I'm just a bit tired. I think it's natural to run out of inspiration from time to time. Best of luck with your new writing project!

  43. Noemi says:

I totally know what you're going through – I think we all do. In any case, waiting on your next project! 😉

  44. sheilasultani says:

By looking at your title I think the reason you haven't been online is because you've been too busy watch “The Hills” marathon. Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head all day.

    I'm glad you're back!!
