So… This Happened

Yeah. Um…..

My 16 year old son, Justin, is enrolled in driving school.

*GASP* |  *GULP*   | *FAINTS*

But, I don’t know which is worse.

The fact  that my son is driving? Or the fact that she school I sent him to can’t spell the word ‘National’ properly?

Oops!  I shouldn’t laugh but I let out a little giggle, Oh and I think the school should get their money back from the printing company.  Someone didn’t proof read before the order was put through even though you destroy, and start over.

  2. Nicky says:

That is hysterical. Seriously. But it could have been worse. It could have said All Naitional Diving Skool. 🙂

  3. Does nobody proof read any more?

  4. Ron says:

    OMG…that’s freakin’ HILARIOUS!!!!!

And the best to your son in school!

    Have a supa’ weekend, Meleah!
    X

It was scary enough for us to teach our kids to drive out here in the country.  I can’t imagine what it would feel like to have a new driver starting out on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Maybe the school focuses so much on the students and giving good lessons that they weren’t paying attention to the sign…
    Maybe…

  6. Oh man, this is bad.

  7. Linda R. says:

You don’t have to spell to drive, but I bet the driving school is embarrassed by the error.  Hopefully new signs will be supplied soon.

  8. Middle State says:

I remember those days. I still can’t ride shotgun with my 18-year-old.

  9. LOL! I’d be worried with atrocious spelling like that!

  10. Cheryl P. says:

Oh dear, that can’t be good.  Maybe the people that make up that company are better drivers than they are spellers.  Let’s hope so.

  11. Paula Wooters says:

Congratulations, Momma!  Let’s hope your son learns to drive better than they spell.

  12. agg79 says:

Ok, Mel.  I am with you there.  Not sure which one gives me the most laughs, JCH learning to drive or the driving school sign.  Good lord, another Hawthorne on the NJTPK?  Will he survive?  Will you?

Another one of those “growing up milestones” for the parents we are supposed to be happy about.   Seriously, I hope he passes and you have a spell check guarantee.

  13. Roshan says:

That is hilarious. But just think – we won’t be getting any more awesome posts of Meleah getting lost and asking people for directions when going to pick him up from his friends’ homes.

  14. And there’s a period after the title, Driving School. Which is silly.

Look on the bright side. You now have someone to run to the store for you whenever you want a candybar. Might take him two hours to run to the corner store, but you’ll get personal delivery of confection, so how can you complain?

  15. I hate it when that happens.  But good for Justin!

  16. I can’t even deal!

  17. Seriously!!

I was scared to let my son drive.
Now I am even more terrified!

    🙂

  18. Thanks, Ronnie!

I am dedicating the rest of today and ALL day tomorrow to catch up with everyone’s blogs!
I feel bad. I’ve just been so busy!

  19. Oh I am NOT letting my son drive on the NJTPK.
Not until he’s 20 years old!

  20. I hope they fix it too.
    How embarrassing.

  21. I haven’t been in the car with him driving yet.
He had to complete six hours of Driving School first.

I will be stuck as the passenger in August.
    So help me g-d!

  22. Thanks, Agg!

The real nightmare starts in August, when I have to teach him how to drive, from the passengers seat.
I don’t think there’s enough xanax in the world!

  23. Well, I’m sure I will still be able to entertain you with posts about me getting lost.
Only MY SON will be driving. Not me!

  24. You’re 100% right about that!
And I am looking forward to making him go to the store for me!

  25. territerri says:

Hahaha! I can’t believe someone let that spelling error get past them!

As for having a child who drives… don’t plan on sleeping for a while.

  26. Terri I may NEVER sleep again!

  27. Ha ha ha! Spellcheck alert!

  28. Unfortunately, I am the kind of person who would point that out to the guy bringing the car.  Of course, then my child would fail driving classes.  I guess I better not be there when my child takes driving classes.

  29. I didn’t even NOTICE the typo at first because I was too nervous about my son driving.
It wasn’t until I posted another photo on Facebook, with my son driving in this car, when someone else pointed out the misspelled word.
    Then, I died!

  30. Indigo Roth says:

Well dammit, Disqus ate my comment. Wish I could remember it, I’m confident it was hilarious. Still. Scary days, eh? Good luck to the lad behind the wheel =) Indigo

  31. agg79 says:

I’m sure THAT will give you a few grey hairs. I cannot wait to hear how the experience goes. When will you let him attempt the NJTPK?

One other question: Stick or Automatic?

  32. Jay says:

Ahahahahahahahaha!!  I love it when signwriting goes bad!!  That’s really funny!

So Justin is learning to drive! Good luck to him, and may he fail his test at least one time. It makes you a better driver, quicker!   I speak from the heart, since my Mum passed first time and she was terrible!

  33. Definitely Automatic. I can’t even drive stick.

Also, he’s never going on the NJTPK!
At least not with ME in the car.

And yes, when I do finally let him drive me in August, that should make for one hellova blog post.
Heck, I’ll probably make a video of it!

  34. Oh, Jay!

    That’s funny.

Justin did FAIL the written test in school.
    But he passed it now.
And he’s got his learners permit.

    * cue dramatic music *

However in the state of NJ he can’t get his official drivers license [and drive alone, without an adult] until he’s 17 years old.

  35. Must be a marketing thing. Like PlaySkool toys.

  36. oldereyes says:

Hopefully, they’ll still teach him when to step on the “gais” and when to step on the “braike.”

  37. BAhahahHAhahHAhahhHHA

  38. Jules says:

    Nice…

  39. Selma says:

LOL. Does bad spelling equal bad driving instruction? I hope not. Hahaha. My son is going to start driving soon too. Think I’ll take trhe bus from now on. Hee heee.
