Pink Eye

Great. I have pink eye, in BOTH eyes.

That makes it very hard to read, write, blog or even watch TV. I can’t even drive my car.

There goes my whole weekend.

*Update: My doctor prescribed these crazy eye drops that burn like a mother f*cker. However they do allow me to open my eyes and have lifted the gluacoma like film that was blinding me. I still cannot insert contact lenses nor do I own the proper glasses for normal vision. But, I am going to try and squint my way around some blogs. I miss the internet!

  • Oh, I’m so sorry. Music. I think music is the answer here. Get out your ipod and turn up the volume and enjoy your favorite tunes.

Also, alcohol might take the sting off this situation. Just a suggestion.

  • Now this is the perfect time for some relaxation… switch off your mind, listen to music and enjoy.. between using some eyedrops that is!

    Hope it settles soon!

  • Diamond

    Oh, nooo! Get better soon!

  • Now you can’t catch up on our blogs! THAT old excuse lol! Feel better!

  • Oh you poor thing! Luckily it wasn’t when you were on your holiday though. Hope it clears up soon.

  • Lee

Is there any malady know to man that you haven’t been afflicted with in the past couple of months??? Holy cow, girl. How about a New Year’s resolution that you’re not going to allow any more nasty bugs access to your bodacious bod?

  • UGH!!

I hateHateHATE the stuff! I haven’t had it in several years (Thank God!) but absolutely HATED waking up in the morning with it… well, never mind, as I don’t want to get disgustingly graphic, but I know you know what I mean! πŸ™

I hope you feel better real soon.

  • Pink eye is better than a black eye.

    Just sayin’…

  • No pictures?

  • I hate pink eye with a passion so I hope it passes quickly.

  • Sorry my dear. Feel better soon – and I do like Terri’s suggestion of alcohol…

  • Meleah

    Terri:
    Oh great idea.
Music + Alcohol = Cure All.

I swear to god, I get EVERYTHING.
    I have No Immune system.
Im sure being out Every Single Nigh for Seven Days In A Row may have played a role in my newest illness.

    GreenEyezz:

Oh this crusty nasty glue leaking from my eyes is nasty.
    UGH.
    This is miserable.

    Dazd:

  • Oh no! I’m sure! You TOTALLY need to catch a break. That’s all there is to it!

  • Oh, deary, I’m sorry to hear this. I thought I had pink eye once (turned out it was just a contact lens-related irritation), but everybody I ran into avoided me like the plague. Stay home until it clears if you can and enjoy the downtime. We’ll be waitin’ for ya when you can see again.

  • Meleah

    Momo Fali:
I know this is because I never go out. And since I have No Immune system, having gone out Every Single Night, for seven days In A Row in this crappy weather was more than this little body can handle. Ugh. But, It was TOTALLY worth getting sick over. Trust Me.

    Kathy:
Hi you! I fully enjoy your blog and I feel bad since I discovered your blog I was away in Mexico for a week, then I had the flu for a week, then I was all consumed dating new man in my life and now I am blind. Therefore I haven’t been able to get over t your blog as much as I would like to. Hopefully, I will be able to get back into a blog routine.

  • Oh, Meleah, I really hope you’re feeling all better quickly.

  • I am so sorry! That sounds awful and if it hasn’t been one dang thing after another!

  • Meleah, you’re so funny! Don’t you know I live vicariously through your adventures?! You sound like me in my 20’s and I miss it! Keep it up, except for the feeling crappy parts. You are due some good luck in the new year.

  • Meleah

    Lance:
    Thank you. Me too.

    Ms.Q.
I cant catch a freeking break over here. Maybe all of this hitting me in the last month is a way to clean out my Karma to make room for a new good HEALTHY 2009?

    Kathy:
Why thank you so very much. I am positive that 2009 will be “My 1st GOOD Year In a Long Time”. It just has to get better!
    xoxoxo

  • Pink eye and contact lenses = perfect combination…ugggh…Oooh, maybe it’s a sign? lol

  • Eva

Icky poo. Allow me to bathe you in sympathy. That sounds kind of icky too, but you know what I mean! πŸ™‚ Get well soon!

  • That Santa hat looks so cute and sassy.

Sorry about the pink eye. I hate it. The drops eradicate it in like 2 days though–you’ll be up to speed in no time!

  • Get better soon dear. Music, alcohol & relaxation. Maybe some love thrown in too. Hugs & kisses from me.

  • Meleah, it seems you can’t catch a break these days, girl.

I hope the drops work, and you are better really soon!

    Big hugs.

  • Meleah

    Noemi:
But that is a BAD sign!

    Eva:
    Thanks for the sympathy.

    Husband Clothes:
Two Days? Good…because I am totally abusing the eye drops my primary care physician gave to me. I was in the middle of a ‘dating marathon’ and I don’t want THIS to get in my way!

PS: My Santa hat was a “present” given to me from my fellow blog buddy Olga The Traveling Bra. She rules.

    Roshan:
    Agreed.
But I have to pass on the loving part. I am highly contagious.
    πŸ™

    Ingrid:
I swear, if its not one thing, it’s another.
    Happy Early Birthday To You.

  • Ohhhh hold on a second, you see, according to the Eastern culture, the only cause of pink eyes is you have been looking at naked men! So honey, you might as well confess that you have been looking at, ahem, you know πŸ˜‰

In all seriousness, take care honey. You’ve suffered so much this year, and I just want to give you a hug.

  • I hope its getting better! Pink eye blows. I’m sending eye hugs to you

  • Oh goodness, I hope you’re doing better. Pink eye was going around like crazy here. Two people at work had it, some of the kids at our sons school had it, and our dog even got it. πŸ™
Poor thing. I hope you can see now. You need to relax, you do too much. πŸ™‚ We love you for it.

  • Meleah

    RMH:
Um. Well, yes, I do confess, I MAY have been looking at ONE in particular.

But, now that I am a leaky crusty eyed contagious monster, I am back to being alone in my bedroom with nothing but the comfort only my Apple computer can bring.

Im sick of being sick. I am sick of being thrown all of these curve balls this year.

2009 better be a good year.

    Courtney:
When I woke up…I thought I was going BLIND.
    It was horrifying.
My mother drove me to the doctors at 9am Saturday morning.
I have never felt so crappy.
I have been over dosing on the anti-biotics, and abusing the eye-drops!
I need to get better and right quick
    xoxoxo

    Betty:
Not to be rube, but, hearing that actually makes me FEEL better.

I was thinking that I am some kind of weirdo for getting Pink Eye. It relives me to know this IS going around.

  • hope things are clearing up by now… i have had it before and it is not on my future to do list,,i can tell you that!!!!!

  • I hope you’re feeling better. I have had it too and it is the worst. There is nothing worse than being ill and not being able to watch the TV properly. Talk about cruel. Take care of yourself. XXX

  • i heard about pink eye, but i don’t know how long it takes to clear. since i’m like 100 days behind in responding, i hope you are doing better so you don’t have to squint your way around blogosphere.

  • Meleah

    Paisley:
    OMFG. This was a NIGHTMARE.

I woke up with it Friday morning….but it wasn’t BAD. I thought it was something contact related. Until Saturday morning- when I was BLINDED with that thick nasty stuff. I didnt see my DR or start taking any medication until SATURDAY.

So, hopefully it will be better by tomorrow?

    Selma:
I wouldn’t wish this on ANYONE!
    Ugh.

    Val:
Its NOT A JOKE. Pink Eye SUCKS!
I am going to the Eye Drs today.
    Its better, but not gone.

  • Well Terri gave you MY advice – Smart woman she is….

I once had it and had to go to a wake. My friends mother passed away. I never met her but went to pay my respects. While I sat there thier family was so tyouched that I was crying for thier mother. I was actually in pain from the pink eye! LOL

  • That’s is a mo-fo (alternative spelling for mother f*ucker).

  • I got this years ago and it sucked. i had the gel that I had to try and put in my eyes. Not drops, a gel. What gives? More of it wound up on my on the floor than in my eye but it worked. The stuff did burn too. Hope it gets better soon.

  • Meleah

    Oscar:
    Terri Is Good Like That!

Oh No! You went to a wake with Pink Eye. OMFG!

I did NOT leave my house except to go to the doctors. And I am NOT leaving my house until I look like a human being again. This is awful!
