NaBloPoMo | Day 25: Thanksgiving 2012 – The Movie Edition

I cannot even begin to tell you how many hours I spent trying to perfect this video last night. Also, I’d like to apologize for the excessive tweets I accidentally sent out, alerting people this movie was live, only to find it had been marked “private” or had been “deleted” altogether. I completely forgot my YouTube account and my Twitter account are linked. My bad.

When YouTube uploads any of my home movies they become really blurry. And it’s drives me absolutely insane. Especially after the extensive work I put into these with editing, and timing, and special effects. Plus, my new camera captured images and footage that are so incredibly clear – I desperately wanted to figure out some new compression methods in order to give me options so I would be able to chose the version that provided the most clarity.

Long story short?

After six hours, a lot of cursing, and several thousand failed attempts, I gave up.
Apparently, my videos on YouTube will never be HALF as clear as the rendition on my computer.

Anyway…

As promised, please enjoy this Holiday Home Movie, from my family to yours.

Clearly, we love to dance.

PS: It’s crunch time over here. I’m close to reaching the word count goal of 50,000 words. But I need to get this done in less than 5 days in order to complete the NaNoWriMo challenge. Basically, I’ve stopped editing entirely. In fact, I’m writing any and every thing that pops into my brain [as long as it pertains to my novel]. I figure, worst case scenario, at least I will be able to use those notes after NaNo is over.

Right?

You have a great family. You did a fabulous job. What a great family album. Maybe you could parlay it into a business.

Regarding your writing, the first draft is for getting everything down. Absolutely do not worry about editing. Keep going. You’re doing great.

I just finished another revision on my book. A friend in my writer’s group is going to read it. Another friend read an earlier revision and offered great input, which I used in my rewrite.

  6. Thank you so much, Lauren!

    🙂

As always, another Meleah classic. DO I see a few potential candidates for next season’s for Dancing With the Stars? Definitely dancing is in your jeans.

Good luck on the final few days of NaNo. 43k and counting. You’re in the home stretch.

I loved it! Well worth all the troubling hours you spent! Our family is so reserved, so it’s wonderful to see a family let loose and have fun together!
Congrats on closing in on the 50,000 words! It’s been a successful month for you! 🙂

  11. Here’s hoping I make it!! I’m running out of steam!

  12. I WANT TO BE IN YOUR FAMILY!!!!! What a fabulous time you must have had…. OMG you guys are hysterical. Such a fun, close, wonderful family. I bet if I sat for five minutes with you guys I would have milk shooting out of my nose!!!!!

    This. Is. AWESOME!

I’m so surprised your Uncle wasn’t a dancin’ machine this year. (Was he there?) Your brother did a slammin’ job takin’ up the slack, though. Fantastic as usual. I had a huge smile on my face while I watched it and I’m still smiling now. Well done and in the crunch time of NaNoWriMo! I’m impressed Meleah!

  15. YAY! Thanks, Kelly.

Sadly, Uncle Rick wasn’t feeling well and he wasn’t able to join us. Be he WILL be here for Christmas!
My brother is a dancing fool. And I dig that about him!

Also, I just completed NaNoWriMo today.
    Thank fuck.

    How was your holiday?
I miss your blog posts SOFA KING much.
But I am thrilled about Minnesota Nice.
