Let’s Talk Some Summer Television

[Now, before anyone yells at me! YES! I have been working diligently on my book. In fact, Chapter 10, 11, 12 and 13 are ALMOST finished and they will be posted in the near to immediate future. Just as soon as I make a few decisions.]

That being said.

Let’s talk some ‘Summer Television’ shall we?

It’s pretty rough during these hot, and humid, thunder-stormy, summer months, to find any half way decent programming. My evenings are just not the same without at least: one guilty pleasure, one drama, some face paced action, and a little humor.

Therefore over this past week, I’ve made it my personal mission to seek out and find: the good, the bad, and the WTF is happening on television.

I’ve been spending quality time in front of my television. And by quality time I mean, watching a plethora of new television shows, catching up on missed season premieres and season finales, all while taking notes, researching characters, and writing blog posts for your reading enjoyment.

So, if you’d like to talk some Television? Come on over to Melevision!

Or, simply chose any show(s) on the list below and just click on the linked Giant Sized Titles!

Oh, and…if any of YOU have a particular favorite new summer show that is not on the list, please feel free to tell me all about it in the comments section of this post!

  1. Jay says:

Well done on the book, Meleah!! You’re doing great!

As to television, we watch very, very little. So little, that I’ve never even heard of ANY of those shows you mention! LOL!

  2. Selma says:

I am so excited about the book.

Not all the shows you’ve mentioned have started in Australia yet, but I’ve been watching Kendra, Denise Richards, SYTYCD & Kathy Griffin. Saving Grace starts next week so I’ll definitely tune in to that. I think I watch too much telly!

  3. Arv says:

I always liked the 90’s television better 😛

  4. Great going on the book, Meleah 😀

As for tv, I only watch specific shows …

  5. Rogelio says:

Syndicated freak here. I let TV shows to mature and like a good wine, careful aging provides for a better taste. With no specific order nor preference:

Family Guy, Gilligan’s Island, Law & Order SVU, any Star Trek… *any*, Seinfeld, Cheers, Yes Dear (guilty pleasure… love Liza Snyder), Dirty Jobs, John Stewart’s Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Two and a Half Men, Mythbusters, Home Improvement, My Name is Earl, X-Files, The Bernie Mac Show, George Lopez, King of Queens, That 70s Show, Malcom in the Middle, Battlestar Galactica (the new one, old one was too cheesy), Everybody Loves Raymond… whew! that’s a lot, and I am missing some.

Needless to say I have no discipline to watch any of them or the few that may have escaped the list… whatever’s on when I have the time to watch it will work for me.

  6. Meleah says:

    Jay:
Really? Now I feel bad for watching so much TV!
    LOL

    Selma:
I watch waaaaaay too much TV too!
And, I cant wait to hear what YOU think of my latest chapters when I post them this week.

    Arv:
    That’s nice

    Nick:
    Which ONES?

    Rog:
Law & Order SVU, Seinfeld, The Colbert Report, are some of my favorites too!

  7. I’m glad you are working on that wonderful book of yours. I’m not watching a whole lot of tv…but in my house it’s reruns of King of Queens that the kids are always playing that reel me in! 🙂

  8. My goal – has a TV-free summer this year 🙂

    I know, I’m the oddball.

  9. Meleah says:

    Heather OSB:
    That IS a GREAT show.
I think I will be ready to ‘go public’ with the newest chapters of my book this week.
    xoxo

    RMH:
Actually, I seem to be the oddball!
No one else seems to watch nearly as much TV as I do!
    🙂

  10. moooooog35 says:

    Helloooo?

    Wipeout?

    Where’s ‘Wipeout?’

Annoying people beating the shit out of themselves on television?

You can’t buy that kind of entertainment unless you’re in the South of Mexico and have a spare $25.

    Long story.

  11. Meleah says:

    Mooog35:
What? Are you serious. I’ve never heard of Wipeout!
And now, I need to know the Mexico Story!

  12. cmk says:

Summer TV! I have some favs that I wait for AND some NEW favs:

    Eureka
    In Plain Sight
    The Closer
The Cleaner (Benjamin Bratt, A&E, Tuesday, 10:00)
    Leverage
    Burn Notice
    Royal Pains

I also add a few ‘not necessary’ shows–some from your list–but it keeps me busy till hockey season starts up again. 😉

Oh, and I need the passwords to your next chapters! Can’t wait to read them. xoxoxoxo

  13. Meleah says:

    CMK:
Finally! Someone ELSE who loves TV like me!
    Check your email! PW sent!
    xoxo

  14. You know what’s weird, I’ve stopped watching TV. Ever since I started my website, I just don’t have time. The hour or so free time I have a night is spent guzzling beer and either surfing the internet or watching random stuff on Hulu. I used to be a major TV junkie and it’s been replaced with the internet.

  15. Meleah says:

    Marty W:
Since I dont have a REAL job right now I do have the time to indulge both my addictions to the television and to the internet!

  16. Ricardo says:

I just went off on my blog about people (most of my readers who I still love dearly) who refuse to own a TV because it’s bad for you or rots your brain or whatever. I’m glad to see this. Royal Pains is a good show. It has my vote.

  17. Burn notice and Big Brother are my favorite summer shows!! Haven’t seen Royal Pains yet, but it looks good. My son and I are watching “I survived a Japanese Game Show”. Corny (and at times downright weird) but still entertaining.

  18. Meleah says:

    Ricardo:
    I heart Television.

    Darrin:
Thanks for the new shows to add to my list!

  19. Natural says:

if anything i might check out hawthorne, only because i like jada enough to give her a minute of my time.

  20. Meleah says:

    Valerie:
Jada is REALLY good in HawthoRNe. You SHOULD watch it!
    🙂
