I Am Two.

Oops.

And Wow.

Geez. I missed my own blog anniversary. Saturday, on July 26th 2008, while I was busy as a bee and knee-deep working on Chapter 3 of my book project, this blog, My Blog: Turned Two Years Old.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Momma Mia Mea Culpa.

May the next two years be as fun, and as fulfilling, as these last two years.

I want to take this time and say thank you, to every single person/reader that has ever taken the time to read my words, leave a comment, participate in a meme, hand out an award, and to those who have ultimately become my deepest and most cherished friendships. I am truly blessed to be surrounded with such an incredibly talented, funny, brilliant, community of fellow bloggers. I love each and every one of you. I will be forever grateful having been able to share my journey in life with you.

Only bloggers can appreciate the significance of being two. Blogging changes you in way you never expect before you start. Most fade into oblivion after a few months. Congratulations. This is an accomplishment you should be proud of.

  8. Jay says:

Happy Blogbirthday! I am a mere youngster compared to you! Well done for making it work so well!

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday, Meleah!!! I hope I’m still around to help you celebrate your 20th year someday. By that time, you’ll be a famous writer after your fourth or fifth book is published. I just hope you’ll remember the old fart who was a fan “way back when.”

Wait! You have to get the first book published first!! Hurry up and get the rest of those chapters written. Your fans are waiting!

Did I ever tell ya than when I come here I’m often singing “Momma Mia” by Abba? LOL It’s a happy song!

    Here’s to many, many more years of blogging! {Raises glass}

  13. Meleah says:

    Drowsey Monkey:
    Thatโ€™s funny.
Actually the reason I named my blog this title was for these reasons:

    MOMMA:
When my son was little, he never called me mom, or mommy. He always called me โ€œmommaโ€

    MIA:
When I was little I called my grandmother Manga (who passed away from althzhiemers) So, since I made up a name for her, she made up a nickname for me, Mia. As I grew into a teenager I was always Missing In Action, so MIA was / sometimes even now is / still applicable.

    MEA CULPA:
Is Latin for: โ€œmy faultโ€ or โ€œmy own faultโ€. In order to emphasize the message, the adjective โ€œmaximaโ€ may be inserted, resulting in โ€œmea maxima culpa,โ€ which would translate as โ€œmy most [grievous] fault.โ€
The โ€œmea culpa,โ€ as the Confiteor has come to be known popularly, is not simply a confession of sins, but rather an admission of oneโ€™s flawed nature and the willingness to make amends for it.

โ€ฆand as you have all READ, I have said, and done many things that get me into situations that are my own damn fault, and this BLOG is an admission of my flawed nature.

So, there you have it. Now you know.

  14. dawn says:

    Congrats Meleah!
I hope I make it to two ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. B Dawg says:

I was really struck by Gregโ€™s statement about the lifespan of the average BLOG. In retrospect, yours is quite an accomplishment. Attesting to the vitality of your writing. Itโ€™s both fresh and edgy. While Iโ€™m not a BLOGGER, I do like to peak on your site fairly often. This is an achievement you can rightfully be proud. The world is full of people that tear down ideas; itโ€™s a lot harder to find people that can create something good. Keep writing Meleah. You have a lot of good friends out there that are interested in your ideas.

    BDawg

  20. Meleah says:

    B-Dawg:

If it wasnโ€™t for you and Leslie there would be no Momma Mia Mea Culpa at all. Thank you for suggesting I start a blog two years ago. Who knew it would play such an important role and make such a hug impact on my life. I will never be able to thank either one of you enough.

    And your comment?
    Means The world to me.
    xxoo xxoo
