First of all, Happy Easter, to those of you celebrating.
Most of you already know that my beloved Grandmother Evelyn sadly passed away back in February. What you might not know is that this Easter is the VERY FIRST Easter [since I was 17 years old] that I will NOT spending with my Gramma Evelyn.
And quite frankly, I am really sad about it.
My heart is so heavy today that I can barely lift my head to type these words.
I miss her.
A lot.
Gramma Evelyn was more than just outspoken. In fact, I thought she was so entertaining that I would often follow her around with my video camera. Because you never knew what ‘Words Of Wisdom’ would come out of her mouth. And by ‘Words Of Wisdom’, I mean F-Bombs.
In honor of her memory, rather than sulking in sorrow, I’d like to share with you ‘The Best Of Gramma Ev’ because laughter is the best medicine, and because ‘Everyone Needs A Little Evelyn’ in their lives.
Please enjoy listening to her on various topics including but not limited to: Senior Citizens, Whores [yes people, whores] Random Celebrities, Facial Hair, Parking, Cooking, Politics and much, much, more.
Happy Easter, ya’ll.
Happy Easter Meleah. I know you’re sad, but that video just shows how much Gramma Evelyn is still with you. A personality like that is not extinguished when the body that holds it gives out. Big hugs, sweet thing. I love you.
OH God I love Grandma Evelyn..I am now going to shave off my stubble and because I’m a pervert take up pairs figure skating…:)
What I love about this video is that your Gramma goes on and on with the camera running. Are you sure all these bits weren’t rehearsed?
Wishing you a very Happy Easter. As you gather with your family, I know your hearts will be filled, and your spirits lifted, by many wonderful memories and tales of Gramma Evelyn.
I love Grandma Ev so much. Back in 1995 I had a job at a moving company and the very first responsibility I had was coordinating moves out of our Hackensack, NJ office. Many of these people were seniors and your Grandma reminds me of many conversations I had with my customers where they would riff on all sorts of topics. I loved them to bits. If only I’d taken up any of the standing invitations I had to come to Boynton Beach…..
Thank you for sharing her with us.
My favourites have always been her comments about figure skaters & bearded men. She’d get along alright with a full bearded dude like me right ? LOL

Yes, my friend….I know exactly how you feel. I had this same heaviness in my heart right after my father passed away. And it was right around this time of the year too. He passed away in March, therefore Easter felt the same way for me.
Sending a BIG cyber hug your way….
(((( Meleah )))))
x ya, girl! Happy Easter to you and your family.
P.S. love the video.
Thank you, Nicky. I’m REALLY sad today.
Shave! Or get the hell off the TV!
She just talked like that.
All. The. Time.
None of this was rehearsed.
I’m just an excellent editor.
I miss her so much.
You’re welcome.
HA!
Today is just weird.
And VERY sad.
No one will be yelling at me today because I’m a “gavfone.”
Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry you’re sad. I’m pretty sure Grandma Evelyn wouldn’t want you to be sad, and this video is awesome, she’s a funny lady.
Gramma Ev is a hoot! She reminds me of mine who is also very opinionated but had never used the “f-bomb” in my presence until one day, not so many years ago, she finally did and I almost fell off of my chair. I’m surprised that you kept the camera as steady as you did while filming her.
😉
I’m sorry for your loss and I know you are missing her dearly. We all can’t live forever and she appeared to greatly enjoy her life. She would (or maybe is) enjoying this tribute.
Happy Easter to you and yours 🙂
What a gem!
So glad she never went into politics… the art of never saying anything simply or expressing what you really think. On second thoughts, maybe she would have forced politics to fit HER mould! Wouldn’t that have been something!
Excellent presentation too, and loved the music.
Thank you, Ron.
You’re a good friend.
She was SOFA KING funny. I miss her. A lot.
Thank you, so much.
Right back atcha!
Aw. Thanks.
She would have been VERY funny, if she ever got involved with politics!
No words of wisdom, no advice on what to do. Just a simple “I love you, sweetie.” and a virtual {hug}. Take care and tomorrow WILL be better. xoxoxoxo
I am sorry you’re sad, and I know it hurts when someone you loved is not there to share holidays or any day with you anymore. I loved your video and your Gramma’s strong personality. As some of my family would say, she is a real card – and that’s a good thing. Just remember she will always be with you in your memories, and your wonderful video.
Happy Easter, Meleah! I’m so sorry you’re missing Gramma Evelyn so much. Clearly she was an amazing person.
Wow, I knew she was a character before-but wow, this video is so funny. What a woman. No doubt she is in the afterlife amusing everyone up there.
And holidays suck the big one after a loss like this. I no longer like Christmas mornings because it was a holiday that we always spent with my Mommom.
Awww. What a loss it is. I feel for you so much. She was an amazing, truly wonderful person. And so, so funny. When she said she doesn’t know how Tiger Woods ever had time to play golf I nearly fell off my chair laughing. And then when she said Hillary Clinton would steal the carpets off the floor of the White House I really lost it. It must be so hard for you being without Gramma Ev at Easter. I am so sorry.
Here’s wishing you and all at home a happy Easter 😀
Nothing I say will make you feel better, but it will improve with time. You will be able to watch these videos and smile without the pain one day. I promise 🙂
It’s great that you have these wonderful videos of her, keeping her alive 🙂

Thanks CMK. Love you.
Thanks, Linda. Video’s like these make me feel close to her again.
xoxoxo
Nik,
I really wonder what she’s like in heaven.
I like to imagine her yelling a lot.
“She’ll steal the carpets off the floor!” KILLS ME!
Thanks!
Thanks Babs. This was the first Holiday without her.
And I usually only spent Easter with her. Yesterday was such a hard day.
Wow, what a fantastic woman. I’m sorry she’s gone, but Gramma Evelyn lives on in your blog!
She will live FOREVER on my blog, and in all of the videos I have of her!
You’re Gramma Evelyn was AMAZING!!! I want to be just like her when I grow up:)
Me too, woman. Me too.
Gramma Evelyn had quite a mouth on her :). She sounds extremely entertaining. Rest in Peace Gramma Evelyn, your opinions will be missed. I have to admit, I agree with her completely on cooking. I would vote for Gramma Evelyn.
I miss her. A lot. But these videos will make me laugh forever.
I remember that the first time I watched this, I laughed so hard I was unable to breathe for about ten minutes. This time around was no different. What an awesome woman.
This will make me laugh for all of eternity!
