  1. Cheryl says:

Did you know that the first definition up there is archaic and no longer in use? Neither did I until I looked up the word in a different dictionary. That goes back to when it was most common for domestic workers and indentured servants to live on the property where they worked. Aren’t I just a font of useless information?

  2. Ziva says:

Well, this is definitely outlier. 😉

  3. nonamedufus says:

You’ve done us all a great public service. Well done.

  4. Ron says:

    Great one, Meleah!

And thank you for sharing this because in all honesty, I had no idea what Outlier even meant!?!?

    You taught me something today!
    X

  5. Cheryl P. says:

This word is crazy…well the word isn’t crazy, it’s outlier…. but each dictionary has a remarkably different definition.  I love that your entry is the definition.  Damn, you are so very clever.

  6. 00dozo says:

So, it isn’t my dog?  😉

  7. laughing mom says:

Oh Meleah, you know that all of us looked it up in the dictionary. You were the only one smart enough to stop there.

  8. I thought an outlier had something to do with bellybuttons, thanks for clearing that up!

  9. Nicky says:

     So very, very true!!

  10. Mike says:

Argh…I would have saved myself a lot of time if I just did this!

  11. Well, who knew?  Not I, for sure 😉

  12. Ah yes, the definition shot…if only you had done this yesterday then I wouldn’t have had to look it up five minutes before the deadline.

  13. MalisaHargrove says:

Not only is the word strange…the definitions of the word are strange. You are so clever to have taken the wise route. Wish I had thought of it.

  14. I still have NO IDEA what the fuck this word means!

  15. I was completely STUMPED with this one!

  16. I STILL don’t understand this word!

  17. I was CLUELESS with respects to this word and what post for this damn word!

  18. I have NO IDEA! Ahahahahhaha

  19. I looked it up,was still confused, took this photo and peaced out!

  20. I think only MWJ knew what this word meant

  21. Well there didn’t seem to be any other option.
Especially since I still really don’t UNDERSTAND this word!

  22. mikewjattoomanymornings says:

I’m trying to decide if this image qualifies as a photograph or should be discarded because it’s an Outlier.

Very interesting mind game you’re playing here, Meleah.

  23. Cheryl P. says:

I think everyone looked it up but you were the brilliant one that made it your entry.  HHHHAAA….

  24. Cheryl says:

    Mwahahahaha! Best response ever.

  25. Anna Lefler says:

I’ve always thought of myself as an outlier.

And by that I mean weirdo.

    XOXO

    A.

  26. Cadeaux says:

Just a wild guess here – you didn’t know what it meant, either, did you?  😉

  27. Mike says:

LOL… well played, ma’am.  I remember #3 from my statistics class I had to take in college.  Gross.

  28. agg79 says:

Nice play on the word.   One that stands out from the norm.

  29. ladyV says:

    difficult one, but good one.

  30. This is a great photo of a word I didn’t know either.  I guess I’ve learned something, but I’m never going to try and use it in a conversation.

  31. AHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA!!

    You rock, Anna!

  32. I still don’t know what this word really means.
And I’m totally okay with that!

  33. Me either, Sis. Me either!

  34. Lucy says:

Guess the definition was no help LOL

  35. Nora Blithe says:

I had to look it up too!

  36. territerri says:

Funny … I’m reading Cold Mountain, and it makes frequent reference to people as “outliers.”

  37. Huh. Interesting!
This was the 1st time I ever heard this word in my whole life.
