  • and i bet you feel great, well not great, but better about facing your past. does it feel like a load has been taken off. darn it. i hope your book has like 5 chapters…i want to read it now. you’re on chapter 3 right. 5 is enough. or is it 8.

  • Wow…that is something I don’t think I could handle. Meeting my past and reliving the memories. Although mine was alcohol induced, it still left scars and regrets.

  • I am glad it went so well, Meleah. The material you got from him will surely enrich your book.

  • Meleah

By the time I am finished with this book who know how many chapters it will be. I really have 16 chapters, but I have to go back and flech out 4-16 with more details and charcter developement. I want you to read it right now too, but, you’ll just have to hang in there.

It was actually GREAT to see DJ Bob again. We’ve been talking and emailing and I am 100% at peace with all things surrounding that.

It was a very intense experience. I was surprisingly comfortable once I saw him. I have No Regrets about my past. Scars? Maybe. Regrets? No.

Oh I obtained some Kick Ass Material. Really. I had forgotten all about “bank shots.” That story is pricless. And, we still have so much more to cover and talk about. This is very exciting for me!!

  • You handled that well! I would have been a bag of nerves 😉
Don’t you just hate the way men age at a different rate than us? NOT FAIR!

  • i cannot wait to read this girl… i am thrilled your meeting went better than expected… and hearing about you from someone else’s perspective is bound to make the book more rounded… you have a great weekend too….

  • Meleah

    So. Not. Fair!

The other perspective is way cool. I get to hear what I looked like to other people.

And, gettting his take on HIS feelings and HIS experience will only enhance the development of HIS charcter!

Im so thrilled he is GAME for more interviews and more questions. Now that we got the 1st encounter out of the way, we seem to be picking up right where we left off.

  • Jay

So nice to hear that went well! I love it when we can go back and ‘heal’ something in our past. Atta girl! And kudos to Bob too!

  • Sometimes time and energy is well spent by revisiting some parts of our past.

I’m very happy for you, girl!

  • You lead a very interesting life. I cannot wait for the for book to get published. I can then read about all things Meleah, besides what you put on your blog.

You have a great weekend as well.

  • Meleah

    Yeah! Kudos to Bob too!

Amazing what time and space can do!

Oh you will have uourself a grand ole time reading about my shady past! Have a good weekend!

  • Pretty brave of you to do this, and even better that he was willing to meet. Nice guy. It makes total sense to me that you’d have to cut off all those connections and make your exit the way you did. The photo made me sad, though. Look at his eyes. *sigh*

Well, have yourself an AMAZING and productive weekend. Work, work, work!

  • 🙂 Love you Melz. It’s good to reconnect with people from the past and heal. 🙂

  • Meleah

I really did have to cut everyone OFF and cut everyone OUT of my life. That was esential. And yes, DJ Bob, is The Nicest Guy On The Planet! I am really happy to have this opportunity.

I will be busting my ass this weekend, but first I HAVE TO finish ‘The Apple Movie’.

Aw. Love you too darling. And it was very healing, and FUN to boot!

PS: Remeber the clip / preview I sent of the Apple Video, well…I cannot WAIT for YOU (of all people) to see it when its done. I hope you like it enough to put it on your Apple Grrl site!

  • I’m so glad your meeting with Bob went well. Looking forward to reading your book when it’s done.

I hope you have a great weekend!

  • I am SO happy to hear it went well. It sounds to me like he will be a great asset to writing your book. And this meeting had to be a big monkey off your back, knowing it ended well. YAY!!

  • Meleah

    Employee No 3699:

Me too. It was awesome, and now I have even MORE material!
    whoo hooo

  • Go you! Facing our ghosts can be hard. Strike that. Awful!

But sometimes our ghosts understand why we did what we did and they forgive us for it.

I’m so glad you had the chance to do this.

    Good luck with those notes!

  • awesome. I like DJ B and loved reading about this. Your book is going to be a bestseller. I predict it.

You have a lot to say, just keep being you and moving forward.

  • Meleah

“our ghosts understand why we did what we did and they forgive us for it.”
Um wow. you said that perfectly. Thats just what happened!
Thankf for the well wishes and good luck!

DJ Bob is one cool cat. From Your Lips to G-d’s ears about that best seller stuff!

  • cmk

How nice for you that everything went so well. While I don’t THINK I have anyone from my past I’d be apprehensive to see today, there are some who I have lost touch with. I DID see a friend from high school several years ago, after not being in touch for years, and we found there was nothing left–it was quite sad. I’m happy for you that you have re-gained a friend!

  • olly

Hope you have a great weekend.
I will be doing my House Impersanation here in my house.
The swelling is finally subsiding and my face is purple.
    Just call me Barney.
    I am a complete freakshow.
    Ta -Ta !
I am glad you hooked up with your DJ pal from yesteryear.

  • It must feel great to reconcile with ur past. There’s a few people from my past I would like to speak to. I had this friend who was one of my best friends for the better part of 11 years. She was a confidant but things soured when she went steady with this asshole and he didn’t like me cause when he first cheated on her, she would come crying to me. Then they got back together and I became his enemy. Slowly she drifted away from the radar as I just cudn’t stand him and she thought he was great. I refused to believe him and he created some trouble for me, over which, she & I had a fight and we haven’t spoken since.
They got married and have two kids and I haven’t spoken to her since 1999.

  • I’m glad you met with him and straightened things out with a friend from your past. I’m happy you weren’t too nervous to meet and of course this will be really helpful and enrich your book even more.

If there is one thing I hate…it’s having friends lost. But it was necessary to put your past behind you to move one. It’s a terrible feeling but reconciling is an even better feeling when you’re in such a better place now. 🙂

  • That’s great to hear Meleah! It’s not always easy to heal past wounds. So, taking this step is a big one, and you should feel proud of how you handled it. I’m not sure how I would handle a situation like that, but I don’t think it would be with as much grace as you have. Anyway, nice to hear this!

  • There are a few ghosts from my past I need to reconcile with. I know I should do it but I keep putting it off. I’m so glad everything worked out with DJ Bob. Do you know how excited I am about your book?
    Happy writing this weekend!

  • Only just starting reading your blog, so I am trying to catch up on the story so far, so haven’t got much to say yet 🙂

What I have read on your book chapter blogs is wonderful, thanks for letting me read your life.

  • Meleah, This is wonderful. You showed such courage about this from the start. …and it paid off. He looks like a sweet guy. I’m glad he’s willing to work with you further.

I hope you’re having a terrific, and productive weekend, Sweetie! xoxo

  • A friend who isn’t bitter about the past, regardless how crap/great it was, is really a true friend.
And you, my dear, you are really special. Not everyone could do what you had done, ie meeting a ghost and be at ease with it.

  • Sounds like a good guy. I’m glad he forgave and was able to rekindle your friendship.

Personally I don’t want anything to do with my old life.

I’ve grown too much since then.

  • Lee

Unfortunately, not all men age gracefully. I’m a perfect example of the exceptions.

Sounds like you had a great reunion. Sometimes, our memories or perceptions of the past keep of from going back to people who were once important parts of our lives. When we get to the point where the opinions of other people are only marginally important to our self-esteem it gets easier. In your case, I think Bob had a sense that your past actions were a matter of self-preservation more than personal attacks.

God, I’m starting to sound like your psychiatrist instead of a blog reader. Congrats on your successful research! 😀

  • Meleah

It was very nice, and I am very lucky. This could have been horribly uncomfortable. DJ Bob rocks!

    Hang In There dood.

Wow. Thanks for sharing all of that. I wonder how she s now?

Jen Who Is Home On A Friday:
I just feel really lucky that it all worked out the way it did!

It was very healing. Thank you

    You are too cute

I was relieved to say the least. It wasnt as HARD as i thought it was going to be!

    Aw. Thank you

Its not that I want to be a part of my past again. Far From It. But this guy is one of the FEW safe people from my past that will help me with my book.

You have aged gracefully! And yes, you did sound a little shrink!

  • DJ Bob

Meleah, I had great time last Sunday! So happy to be back in your life!
    Love Ya, Bob

  • How great! There isn’t much better than forgiveness! I’m so proud of you!

  • Meleah

    I feel the SAME way!

    MoMo Fali:
I am proud of me too. Forgiveness is key!

  • That’s awesome that Bob was willing to let bygones be bygones and to assist you with filling in the blanks!

  • Meleah

  • I’m so proud of you that A) you took that step and B) you asked the tough questions and C) you got closure. How awesome is that for you personally and your book! Yay!

  • Meleah

It was very awesome. For all 3 reasons you mentioned! Thank you!
