Friendships In Bloggsville

Friendships are something I take very seriously. I value, treasure, and cherish each and every one of my friends. In fact, I even took a test to find out what kind of friend I am.

Here are my results:

You Are a Good Friend Because You’re Accepting:

No matter what a friend says or does, you try your best to understand it. And your friends feel like they can tell you anything. You don’t judge.

You know that friendship is a journey – with a lot of ups and downs. If you and a friend grow apart, you get over it quickly… and leave the potential for future friendship open.

You tend to have many friends from many walks of life. Anyone you meet is could become a friend. In fact, you are especially interested in people who are a little different than you. Seeing life from another perspective is something you cherish.

Your friends need you most when: They can’t turn to anyone else with their secrets

You really can’t be friends with: Dogmatic, stubborn people.

Your friendship quote: “Love is blind, but friendship closes its eyes.”

*Take the TEST and tell me your results in the comments.*

In keeping with the theme of friendship, now is the perfect time to tell you that I have been awarded the Friendship Blogger Badge from AntiBarbie!

The test says I am a good friend because I am supportive –
You are almost like a life coach for your best friends. You give them help when they need it… but you also know when to give them a push.

People tend to rely on you for moral support and advice. You’ve probably always been mature for your age, so this is a role that’s you’re comfortable with.A friend like you is one of the rarest kinds. You are both a good mentor and companion.

Your friends need you most when: They are confused or worried

You really can’t be friends with: Someone who only wants to complain

Your friendship quote: “The only way to have a friend is to be one.”

I am blown away by this. It’s the way I’d like to be perceived as a friend, but I can’t be sure it’s true!

Thank you so much for the award. I am honoured. Without your friendship there would be no ‘Selma In The City.’ I mean that honestly. You are one in a million.

BTW, I see the sitemeter is nearing 20,000. I think it’s almost time for a party!

  2. AntiBarbie says:

You have an awful lot of friends there girl, not that I am surprised 😉

  3. paisley says:

meleah… i have told you so many times i am not really a friend type person.. and now it has been confirmed,, the test said exactly that, i am not a good friend… now i fiddled around with it,, and the only thing i can figure out,, is that if i promise not to tell my “friend who is wearing something completely hideous and inappropriate.” that they look crazy… i can squeak an accepting friend out of it… but that the best i can do!!!!!

  4. Jodi says:

First…Wow she looks different to me already…I truly hope you enjoy her Meleah.
Second- I can not explain at this moment just how much JOY right this very second you have given me. I will be posting something. You and another have made my day! Thank you- I truly feel you are a TRUE friend

    Third My result:
You Are a Good Friend Because You’re Honest(I can agree with that)

and fourth: Awww paisley….But you are a good friend for just being you!

onward! Have a beautiful day…I know I will this warmed my little heart.
    Peace

  5. Chefmom says:

I too got the result of supportive friend. It’s very accurate!! I’m always quick to give advice and different points of view. Cool test!

  6. hammer says:

It says I was supportive. The problem I have is that I do a lot for people and treat them with kindness, then they put me in terribly uncomfortable situations. That’s usually when I bug out. I guess I need to be more choosy 🙂

  7. Dazd says:

Mine says I am a good friend because I’m entertaining.

“You are energetic, amusing, and always up for a good time.
Optimistic and genuinely happy, you help people see the sunny side of life.

And you’re always up for a party… no matter how big or small.
You’re usually the first one to celebrate a friend’s success.

Anyone who’s interesting or fun is welcome in you circle of friends.
You’re not the type of person to exclude or make fun of someone who’s a little different.

Your friends need you most when: They’re down or depressed

You really can’t be friends with: Anyone who’s stuck up or chronically unhappy

Your friendship quote: “It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.”

  17. someGirl says:

See this is why you’re a good friend…
After being MIA for a couple of weeks and COMPLETELY neglecting all of my blog friends (most importantly YOU) You still manage to give me this little gem. You’re the best…

    As for the test….
[“You are good friend because your LOYAL….You believe in letting people figure out their own path in life….And part of your loyalty means that you’ll do a lot for your friends…You are truly a friend for life. And you have friends you’ve known since you were a kid.”]

    Guilty…on ALL counts.

  18. Well, BIGGGG surprise….I am a good friend because I am SUPPORTIVE! LOL!

Thanks meleah for the lovely Friendship Badge…I shall display it proudly! (If I can find room!…This is getting a little embarassing! But I LIKE it!)

    ~Olga (AND Shawn too!)

  19. Ingrid says:

Thanks for the award, and for your friendship, Meleah. I love your blog and I am happy to count it among my favorites.

This is what the test says about me: You are a good friend because you are honest.

Like it or not, your friends are going to hear the truth from you.
You know that the truth hurts, but living a life of lies is much worse.

So while you’re definitely kind and supportive, you don’t pull any punches with your friends.
Everyone knows where they stand with you. And what you like and dislike about them.

While some may be initially turned off by your honesty, your friends have come to consider it a virtue.
After all, in world of white lies and deceptive politeness, you can be counted on for honesty and integrity.

Your friends need you most when: They need good advice or an intelligent opinion

You really can’t be friends with: Needy, emotional people

Your friendship quote: “True friendship can afford true knowledge. It does not depend on darkness and ignorance.”

  20. Dan says:
