Day 8 - Texture

This is our kitchen table.

It’s made up of several different textures including: mosaics, smashed China plates, and mirrors.

Pretty cool, yes?

Very freaking cool. It took me a minute to realize that the plate IS the table. Very neat.

  4. That is truly amazing, Meleah! What a delight to sit at that table every day!

  5. Although, Dufus & I may have to boot you off #teamlame… this is far too awesome!

  6. nonamedufus says:

That’s an amazing pic and truly beautiful table, Meleah. If you’re looking to sell it, I’ll “chip” in.

  7. Cheryl says:

All of these photos are fantastic. I’d love to eat at a table that’s so freakin’ creative and colorful. Did your parents have this made especially for them?

  8. Sue says:

Very cool! I can picture some very interesting conversations happening around that beautiful table 🙂

I have never seen a table like that – I like it! Very inspired craftsmanship.

  18. I’m pretty sure my mom wouldn’t like me selling this table!

  19. Actually no.

My mom magically found this in the OUTDOOR furniture section of Horchow. Obviously, we decided to keep it indoors.

    🙂

  20. We sure laugh a lot at this table!

  21. You’re welcome, Ron!!

    XOXOX

  22. It’s definitely ONE of my favorite things in this house!

  23. Cheryl says:

What a fantastic find. Friends of mine had a stained glass table that I’d have killed to own because it was rock solid and had a wooden frame so wasn’t unsafe for kids.

  24. marty wombacher says:

That table is beyond cool! Where did you get it? Great photo!

  25. Oh wow! I would love to see that!

  26. Lauren says:

What a lovely kitchen table and cool shot. The only textures on my kitchen table are dried milk stains and an occasional bran flake.

  27. My mother found it in the outdoor furniture section of Horchow 12 years ago!

  35. mike says:

Very cool. I know exactly how that feels. Cool, jagged but not sharp, and it’s heavy like a mofo. Great pic!

    WOW this is fantastic !

  37. Nicky says:

Stunning! Did you have this when I was there? I don’t remember seeing it.

I love unique pieces. What a great find. I am glad you posted some of the other shots as I was very curious about what the table
    looked like in it’s entirety.

  39. Wow! What a beautiful table! I made some mosaic once, in our bathroom, but it could be very spiteful on a naked body 😉

  40. agg79 says:

Wow. I am duly impressed. Love the color, texture. Reminds me of a couple of Mexican cantinas I used to frequent. Your table is definitely everything it is cracked up to be.
