1 2 3 Book Meme

This always happens. Whenever I am away on vacation or taking a blog break, I get tagged. This time I was tagged by two people to do The Same Meme. Robert & Dawn have asked me to play the 1 2 3 Book Meme.

[See, Robert…I am not “goofing off” anymore!]

Rules How To Play:

1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).

2. Open the book to page 123.

3. Find the fifth sentence.

4. Post the next three sentences.

5. Tag five people & post a comment here once you post it to your blog, so I can come see.

***Now since I have been ‘away’ for a few days I have no idea who has done this or not…so I am not tagging anyone, but if you would like to play, please do!***

Book: Towel Head

What is the book about
:

Its August 1990, Saddam Hussein has just invaded Kuwait and Jasira’s mother has bought her daughter a one way ticket to go live in Texas with her strict Lebanese father. Living in a neat model home in Charming Gates, just outside of Huston, Jasira struggles with her father’s rigid lifestyle and the racism of her classmates that call her ‘TowelHead’. Her aching loneliness and growing frustration with her parents’ conflicting rules drive her to rebel in very dangerous ways. Most disturbingly she becomes sexually obsessed with the bigoted army reservist next door, who alternately cares for, excites and exploits her.

Page 123 & The Fifth Sentence:

We moved down the hall towards Zack’s room.

The next three sentences:

I thought he’d be in there doing something, but he wasn’t. He was in the guest room, looking at Playboys. He was sitting on the bed with his back to the doorway, so he didn’t notice us…at first.

* The end of the meme. *

Speaking of books, I haven’t dedicated any time to sit and read in awhile. However, I am REALLY looking forward to reading THIS ONE. Written by our very own redneck: Robert!!

(I just ordered it and…You Should Too. *Ahem* )

“Like all great philosophical ideas, this one is simple to understand but virtually impossible to imbibe. OK-so we are all one, and divinity abides within us all equally. No problem.

I’m finally reading Eat, Pray, Love after a MILLION recommendations and happened to love where this one fell.
